What's interesting is that the potus glibly puts down 'art history majors' (i'm not one but I like art history) and politicians all over the country talk about 'stem' but you don't find many high level politician kids going into stem.

I wonder why

A president's offspring will be given a well-paying job irrespective of his/her major - something that is not as easily available to the average individual who does not have a major for which there are job opportunities.

In other words, "Do as I say, not as I do"

I actually know of a lot of politicians kids who are doctors or went into stem fields. Many of them like the idea of doing something very unconnected to politics.

Harvard, where her parents attended law school.

Agreed for several reasons.

Stanford released a report on cross admit information that showed, almost unequivocally, that anyone who has the choice to attend Harvard, Princeton, Yale, or Stanford will attend one of them. Nearly 100% of people choosing between Stanford and another school choose Stanford, and the 3 most prestigious ivies were the only exception.

For that reason, Malia will probably choose one of those.

I didn't know our president had a STEM background.

POTUS was a political science major, like lots of other prelaw people.
