Where do you think Malia Obama will enroll?

My brother got into HBS with a completely undistinguished college/work record (3.0 GPA, lowerling at a trade journal for 2 years after). B-school and K-school seem pretty similar to me (ditto Ed school). By contrast, HLS drew people with top grades and scores; I assume that the same is true of the med school.

From a college admissions legacy standpoint, "real" Harvard = College. And only your parents count these days.

Was your brother accepted to the full-time business school in Cambridge? The part-time, executive, and week end programs are really easy to get into. Full-time -- not so much.

Yes, full time. I was an undergrad at Harvard, so saw these schools from that perspective as well (e.g. TAs, faculty, which classmates applied/got in). And, fwiw, the continuing Ed-type programs aren't unique to the B-school -- we used to joke about the Mid-Career Dictators (not its real name) program at the K-school and, as an adult, I've been amazed at how many people in planning have had yearlong fellowships at GSD. Lots of what Harvard's professional schools are selling is a network rather than an excellent/demanding education.

Maybe the douchiest post ever?

LOOK AT ME, I'M AN ANONYMOUS PERSON CLAIMING TO HAVE INSIDE INFORMATION ABOUT THE PRESIDENT'S DAUGHTER, WHICH I WON'T SHARE, BUT IT'S VITALLY IMPORTANT TO MY SELF-IMAGE TO MAKE SURE A MESSAGE BOARD FULL OF ANONYMOUS PEOPLE KNOWS THAT I HAVE THIS INFORMATION THAT I AM NOT SHARING. ANONYMOUSLY.

Or, perhaps a person poking fun at the idiots who can actually get emotional about something so ridiculous. Wow, you really care a lot about this. What's missing from your life?

And just how do you know there aren't any DCUM DCs who don't attend Princeton, Columbia, Stanford, etc? I'll bet there are a boatload here (my niece included).

I can't imagine her mother would tolerate her going out with a white boy.
Her junior year prom date was white, know-it-all.

After all, JFK was a notorious womanizer who dragged his feet on civil rights and his brother approved bugging MLK's hotel rooms. He bought elections and palled around with pals of mobsters. And talk about white privilege!
You mean J. Edgar Hoover?

There's a thread in the Private School forum that says it's Harvard.

Harvard? that's a shocking surprise.

Early Action at Harvard is not binding, so even if she were accepted there it doesn't necessarily mean that's where she's going

Likely that neither side wanted to be embarrassed in this exercise. I am sure that there is an understanding.

Huh? Even if she got into Harvard, it's not like it's Harvard that has put out a press release. In any event I know a couple of kids who were accepted into their "first choice" HYP early action school and are still shopping in the regular appl season.

Honestly she would be totally screwing over her classmates if she didn't apply early. She shouldn't take up spots at multiple schools when she knows she will get in everywhere
