Garcia is a citizen of El Salvador and El Salvador made decision not to release him. How is it legal for the foreign government to exercise any power over the citizens of El Salvador in El Salvador?

Because ES is only keeping him locked up bc the US is paying them to do so. If we stopped giving our money to ES he’d be released.

A foreign country can choose who they incarcerate based on their own rules. What power does US have to tell them what to do with their own citizens?

We keep telling you—the US IS dictating what happens to this guy. The US is paying to keep him in prison.

According to Van Hollen. A lot of other evidence suggests this is not true. The US is paying for Venezuelans to be imprisoned.

Did you think it was a "junket" when two MAGA congressmen travelled to El Salvador this week to pose in front of prisoners at CECOT? Or was that official business?

For the record, here are some of the MAGA/GOP politicians who have been to CECOT, besides Kristi Noem and her much-publicized photo opps.

--In March 2024, Senator Tom Cotton (AK) visited El Salvador where he praised the nation's improved safety and toured CECOT, becoming the first U.S. official to do so.

--In July 2024, a delegation led by Rep. Matt Gaetz (FL) included Reps. Andy Biggs (AZ), Dan Bishop (NC), and Alex Mooney (WV). They toured CECOT and met with President Bukele, expressing support for his security measures.

--in April 2025, Rep. Riley Moore (WV) visited CECOT and Jason Smith (MO) was photographed in front of a cell of prisoners.

Ignore that he had $1100 and threw away containers of drugs as police were approaching.

And still the government admitted it was an error to deport him.

Cite for the "lot of other evidence" you are referring to? Grok disagrees with you.

"The U.S. government is paying El Salvador to house all deportees sent to the Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT), which includes both Venezuelan and Salvadoran prisoners. Reports indicate that the U.S. paid approximately $6 million to El Salvador to detain 261 individuals deported on March 15, 2025, comprising 238 alleged Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang members and 23 alleged Salvadoran MS-13 gang members. The payment is part of an agreement to cover the costs of their incarceration at CECOT, with no distinction made between nationalities in the financial arrangement. Additional deportations, such as 17 Salvadorans and 10 others mentioned later, are also covered under this deal, though specific payment amounts for these smaller groups are not detailed."

He’s never been charged with a crime, let alone convicted.

Did he? I'm reading the field report.

Can you explain to me what he was wearing that proved he was a member of the gang?

Because they weren’t denied due process by the US Govt. I think this guy probably isn’t quite the angel the left is painting him to be but everyone should be concerned about the lack of due process.

The complicating factor is that he is an El Salvadoran citizen so he’s under their jurisdiction.

This does not seem very complicated. If Trump wants him released, he will be released. Whatever dollar amount is associated with that will be paid by the taxpayers.

The U.S. is paying for innocent people to be rounded up, held, flown out of country, and then imprisoned in a maximum security facility. And they are doing this because they don’t want them held here because folks might see and question what is actually being done. That citizens might question why we are paying a huge amount of money for private prisons instead of to make life better for American citizens.

This is why they have tried to make “woke” mean something more than actually been aware and awake to the lies and manipulation.

F. He has never been convicted of a crime in El Salvador OR in the U.S., so sending him to PRISON in El Salvador makes no sense
.

That is not true. Stop lying.

He was convicted of a restraining order for domestic violence. His wife admitted he abused her for THREE YEARS. Get your facts straight!

That is not a conviction my friend and it doesn’t negate someone’s right to due process. You can be a shit person and still deserve due process, just like every shit person is entitled to a robust defense in court. And it matters for us all that we don’t just say due process doesn’t matter.

Chris Van Hollen is prioritizing bringing one really “shit person” (who is probably a former gang member) to the USA even though he is a citizen of El Salvador, and not a U.S. citizen.

That’s the gist here.

Seeing the mom from Maryland talk about her murdered daughter at yesterday’s press briefing affected me to the core. Where was Van Hollen for her? She is his constituent. He is a horrible person

Didn’t affect me anymore than all the other mothers and family members who have tragically had a person murdered in this country. I’m not about to through out due process and law because of her one story. Especially when the corrupt Trump administration is using her pain to help destroy the country. And particularly not when the President has 34 felony counts and freed tried and convicted J6 folks and actively supports harm to Americans.

What happen to her is a tragedy. I promise you it’s not bigger than the travesty of police officials who continue to violate the rights of normal Americans.

So little compaction for women from the democrats. Garcia's wife is a victim of domestic abuse and no one is speaking up for her. Why women suddenly became a second class citizens in the eyes of Democrats?

What do you mean nobody is speaking up for her? She is speaking for herself and Democrats are supporting her. Why do you have so little regard for women that you think they can't make their own decisions?

Please share the link when one democrat stood up for her when she was beaten up in 2020 several times or when she was granted a restraining order? Please provide any information about what money or services was provided to her so she does not need to depend on the abuser and bag for his return to support her.

I don't know. Which Republicans stood up for the up to 27 women who have accused Trump of sexual abuse or sexual harassment?

It does not answer the question. You made a statement that Democrats are supporting the wife of Garcia. Can you provide the link to one democrat supporting her when she was abused in 2020 and 2021? Othewise you are lying. They support her husband, but not her.

I'm not the PP that said Dems are supporting Garcia's wife. But I do want to point out the absurdity of your logic. Are you seriously suggesting that every time a woman in this country files domestic abuse charges--or they are filed for her--that a Democrat politician is expected to contact that woman and privately or publicly "support" her? There is an estimated 10 million+ cases of domestic abuse in the US every year. How would that work?

The report says he was wearing a "sweatshirt with rolls of money covering up the faces of the presidents". Later it says he had about $1,100 in "funds" on him, Are they talking about the rolls of money? Why doesn't it say that? He was wearing a cap and a hoodie, and we found rolls of money on him, proving gang affiliation?

I don't really see anything in this report that is criminal? Am I missing something?

I also don't think $1100 in cash means you are a gang member? Illegal immigrants usually can't have bank accounts, right? They get paid in cash...

Garcia has never been convicted for a crime. Who lies and slanders and claims otherwise.

REPUBLICANS AND BOTS they setup to TROLL.

Why???

Because they KNOW the LAW is NOT on their side. And they KNOW average Americans would not be either if they spoke TRUTH.

LIES are your currency.

If Garcia had drugs as you allege here, then the government can bring that into evidence in a court of law, and prosecute him. Our country should not just disappear people with no trial, no evidence.

Imprisonment in CECOT, with the US government claiming it can do nothing since it's in another country, is a terrible system, for any criminal or non-criminal.

Standard in domestic violence cases is the court ignores the woman's plea of support and prosecute anyways, because the women suffer from so much abuse and they will support the abuser.

There is no case right now! There are no pending charges. And what is not "standard" or legal is to deport the alleged perpetrator to a foreign concentration camp without due process.
