Van Hollen in El Salvador

I live in MD and voted for him but dont know much about him or is career.

I feel like we have all been saying "do something democrats" and for the first time in a while I feel a little bit of hope seeing someone fight back. That and Harvard.

Maybe he can ask Garcia why his wife filed a claim of domestic abuse against him.

Shame he didn’t fly to Iran when a US citizen from Maryland was held hostage there. That man spoke out today to ask why his case wasn’t given this attention.

The family is upset and coming forward because of Van Hollen’s different treatment. That guy got a statement - it’s a real shame Iran holding you. Garcia got a flight and attempted visit and media hoopla. Garcia is also not a citizen.

Maybe Van Hollen should treat everyone the same?

We still have an American held by Hamas. Why is Van Hollen silent? Don’t tell me it’s because that man isn’t from Maryland because either is Garcia.

Of all the things happening in the world right now, he's got time to fly to El Salvador to "free" a suspected Salvadoran gang member who was in the US illegally.

The Congress is on recess. He is using his time to try to get one of his constituents freed. Did you complain about the myriad GOP congresspeople who have been there this week and DiD gain access?

It’s called which media narrative to push. No one is talking about the economy when the headlines focus on this. Sorry but outside the DC bubble, no one cares about this issue. Trump is vulnerable on prices and the tariffs but as usual the Democratic party is floundering.

Why didn’t Van Hollen personally work to free his constituent from Iran? Why does he only care about the one that arrived in the US illegally?
