I know MCPS reads these threads. Could a solution to the make up day problem be to have 3/31 be a half day? Teachers would still get grading time and we’d get credit for the make up day. I’m not Muslim but google seems to think Eid doesn’t begin until sunset so if that’s true, it could work (correct me if I’m wrong).
I’d personally prefer tacking a day on to the end of the year that no one goes to. |
Are schools going to be closed tomorrow (Tuesday?) |
5 inches in Boyds. It stopped overnight, but it actually just started back up again here. Not super hard, but a real snow fall. |
Yes. Almost certainly. Expect a call soon. |
We're going to need 3/31 for the next winter storm. We need to use 1/29 for this one. |
+1 except I predict an alert by 5-6pm |
6-7 inches out right now. Just snowblowed since my little electric snow blower can’t handle too much higher. Another heavy band is hitting now and adding an inch. NOAA weather radar shows this band passing through for another hour or two. Then a huge band this evening. I am thinking no school until Thursday at the moment. |
But will childcare open tomorrow? |
No. |
1/29 is a grading day. When do you think end of quarter tests and projects could be graded? Should emergency overtime pay be authorized for teachers? |
It’s snowing again and another 3-4 inches late this afternoon and evening. Schools will still be closed tmr. Just drove by our high school and it hasn’t been touched. |
Don’t have kids if you are this dependent on others raising them. |
Yes and probably Wednesday. |
We don’t get quality either. The state sets the 180 rule. Our hs teachers sent out emails with assignments due tomorrow. Kids should get credit. |
No money. |
