VDA

Are the 2012s an outlier for VDA, or is the U13/14 coach not as strong, or are the older VDA teams so much stronger because they've picked up better players along the way?

08,09,10 were all very strong teams with the same coach. Maybe you should contact the director and ask these questions rather than a parent forum that will talk trash about anything they can.

PWSI and VSA 2012’s were really weak.

Is the improvement entirely from recruiting or does the club develop any of its own players? How many of the U13 players are still with the club by U16?

You have to understand that the results for VDA this year are not typical. When BP left FCV and came over to VDA, many of the top FCV players followed him over to VDA, so they received an influx of good players, and essentially became a powerhouse because of it. Will that continue moving forward? Time will tell, but the combined teams are very good.

That is helpful context as I was wondering how VDA girls were so much better at the older ages. Where are the younger FCV players going? Did they go VRSC, Loudoun or elsewhere? I know VRSC was the beneficiary at some age groups, but that may have just been an in-season play and not indicative of the future.

Not entirely true. VDA was a top 20 ECNL club under the old director 2 years ago. Fell out of the top 20 last year and will be back in this year. The DCUM playbook on VDA is so boring.

How many FCV players came to VDA with BP?

Not as many as you think, 08's had probably the most. 11/10/09 not many, 2-3 each age maybe?

08s had quite a few. I think 2-3 per team in the others. VDA was the top club in nova before BP and will keep getting better with BP.

DD’s team added 2 FCV players. 1 is a 100% starter and the other starts sometimes.

PWSI and VSA 2012’s were really weak.

How are the 2013s?

Drive to Howison is a nightmare if you're coming from inner DC burbs, northern Fairfax, or Loudoun's Rt. 7 / toll road corridor. I would imagine that is a constraint for some families, at least until it's clear your kid is power 4 material.

It makes sense now why several local clubs are moving to GA. ECNL has been helping the club with big connections, this while weakening other clubs around, imposing mergers and threatening with revoking memberships. Next year VDA will be the single ECNL club in the area.

MLSN will want a footprint in PWC. Will the right decisions be made though is the question.

Did VDA not take your DD? Failed alliances in Fairfax County are VDA’s fault? LSC brought in valor and gfr and it didn’t last 6 months. Keep playing the victim.
