VDA

Did VDA not take your DD? Failed alliances in Fairfax County are VDA’s fault? LSC brought in valor and gfr and it didn’t last 6 months. Keep playing the victim.

Can't wait for this DC to graduate out of their program. Most common response to anything remotely bad about VDA = Did VDA not select your kid?

Youth soccer isn't a big community, lots of people talk and know what is going on and do not have to be directly associated. Not everybody has an axe to grind, all the previous posts have been pretty helpful until this one.

You have to understand that the results for VDA this year are not typical. When BP left FCV and came over to VDA, many of the top FCV players followed him over to VDA, so they received an influx of good players, and essentially became a powerhouse because of it. Will that continue moving forward? Time will tell, but the combined teams are very good.

How many FCV players came to VDA with BP?

Not as many as you think, 08's had probably the most. 11/10/09 not many, 2-3 each age maybe?

08s had quite a few. I think 2-3 per team in the others. VDA was the top club in nova before BP and will keep getting better with BP.

DD’s team added 2 FCV players. 1 is a 100% starter and the other starts sometimes.

This is wishful thinking. You will have 2-3 good years in VDA if you are lucky and the whole landscape will change. This will have consequences for VDA.

The 10s brought over 5 or 6 from FCV

You're thinking 08's, 10's only brought in 3.

That will be awesome for girls entering their recruiting window. More travel for league matches, but if they do well that should lead to a lot of national exposure because all those high school aged girls will want to play ECNL. As a parent with 2 more years of youth soccer, what happens in 3, 4 or 5 years doesn't mean anything to me.

Mods are quick on the VDA content, anybody have information on the coaching slate? ID's happened but no information on who is coaching what?

I stand corrected. So two biggest changes happened at the 10's and 08's I guess.

Will most likely be posted on social media like previous years when they announce

Union and VDA have been top dogs in VA since u13. VDA brought in 5 players from FCV. Union brought in 7 from BRAVE. Why is this even being discussed? Players change clubs all the time.

Not entirely true. VDA was a top 20 ECNL club under the old director 2 years ago. Fell out of the top 20 last year and will be back in this year. The DCUM playbook on VDA is so boring.

You're saying that top FCV kids, who became starters at VDA across all the age groups, didn't propel VDA forward this year?

Obviously it propelled VDA forward. How could it not?

FCV parents always need credit, VDA was the worst club in the area until FCV rescued it. All hail FCV

Any thoughts on this club formation / system question?
