Every club has a couple skip years. Think arl 13s might be one. Just like union 08s. Alex 11 and 10s, Bethesda 09s, mdu 10s, vdas 11s, nva 10. Syc 10-08. Just happens.

What is a skip year?

Per Rankings app, VDA is top girls team in VA for the four oldest teams and the bottom team in VA (of the ECNL and GA clubs) for the two youngest. Is this typical for VDA? Is the improvement entirely from recruiting or does the club develop any of its own players? How many of the U13 players are still with the club by U16?

I don’t think it’s all randomness. Each of those teams were probably negatively affected by either a coach directly recruiting in the age group from a club nearby, a team just naturally attracting talent because they’re strong and winning or both.

VDA 2011 is in 5th in ECNL mid Atlantic ahead of NVA, Union, and Beach. Finished 4th place last year and probably finish 5th this year and miss champions league.

VDA develops its own and brings in players from the outside. Every club does this or tries to do this.

If BP will be coaching 11s - maybe that will attract some talents from other clubs.

But far ahead of the other teams in this area. Beach is in eighth place in the mid Atlantic but third place in Virginia in the app?

I would not say far ahead of the other teams. MA 2011 is a very very weak conference with 3 teams with a combined record of 2-41-7. That's 6 instant wins for the year. Look at their ranking on soccer app. They are below NVA and FVU.

How should I think about the 2012s (5th in ECNL MA and well behind NVA, FVU, and ARL) and 2011s (also 5th) when the four older VDA teams seem to be well ahead of NVA, FVU, and ARL? Are the 2012s an outlier for VDA, or is the U13/14 coach not as strong, or are the older VDA teams so much stronger because they've picked up better players along the way?
