VDA

For what?

Already VDA has Swanson (UVA) visiting games and recruited VDA players. Like UVA or not, but as a Virginia school this is good news for many young girls. Previously this was nearly impossible due to the sour nature of a coach and that university. Also BP has done a lot for USYNT considerations. He's building, it's been less than a year... be ready

1. UVA has yet to make the ACC tourney for years.
2. UVA is a good school - but a medium soccer college (for women)
3. Kids recruited to UVA from VA do not get high dollar scholarships.
4. Not so sure about BP and USYNT - that might be a years bullet on his resume. I believe he may have burned his bridges there.
5. VDA will be a success because of players and not because of BP. They were well on their way before he tainted the pool.

PS - No one knows why the other posts were removed.

They do well on boys and girls side, girls side is getting a boost from BP absolutely.

They also have an advantage over other clubs when it comes to facilities. The only other club that rivals would be Arlington, but they have to split all of their fields among many more teams. The clubs that have to rely on FCPR are limited in a lot of ways sometimes having to deal with adult league stuff on top of limited space at times.

HAHAHA Their facilities are OK at best. They finally have local bathrooms at least. And if you think practicing on 1/4 of a field in Haymarket is an advantage you dont know soccer.

#1 in league standings but overall VDA should be better, nobody expected a 1-4 scoreline.

How many days a week does VDA play in the VSA area vs PW? PW is a hike so not sure we could stomach more than once a week.

Wondered that myself, how many times does VDA train at Long vs Howison/Ali

Most teams deal with this, some only get 1/6 of a full field to work with. Should be developing more technical players if that is the case. VDA is talented but i would never call their style of play overly technical though so who knows anymore

DD’s schedule is…

Monday/Tuesday in Haymarket. Sometimes 1/4 and sometimes 1/2 a field. It depends on the night.

Wednesday/Thursday in Woodbridge/Manassas on 1/2 a field.

Howison Park is under construction so you have to use a portojohn. It’s going to be really great when the construction is complete!

You must not have seen the game.

VDA training is some of the best in the area and the boys side is probably better than the girls. But thanks to Title IX you won't hear about it as much since there isn't as many D1 programs.

Training is 2x at Haymarket and 2x at howison.

VDA's 2024-2025 fee was $4200; this is far more than the local MLS Next teams.

That is including team fee's, rarely will you see clubs disclose team fee's an if they do which even in this instance, they can fluctuate.

Parents of players would have been there. No need to send links for videos of other people's kids playing.

Very close if not on par with VRSC yet VRSC only has a bar and GA due to money.

How do you justify that cost if you do not have access to the best leagues?

ECNL > GA

No need to try to spin this into some club vs club thing or league vs league thing, what VDA charges all in club and team dues is on par with just about EVERY other NL program for boys or girls.

Only reason UVA has recruited a top talent from VDA is because another coach isn't there anymore. Same reason the posts were always taken down. Not going to say who because I want this thread to stay alive. If you're a Virginia girl, going to UVA is a big deal, like it or not. Clemson is bottom tier this year, would you say they're not worth going to? Obviously not. Some girls don't want to go to California to play and having just VT as your gateway to ACC and be in Virginia (think in-state tuition) was silly when UVA is 2 hours away. Point is BP has already changed the culture for the better as has ML. More VDA girls are being called to USYNT and actually starting, not just camps or ID sessions. Not 100% BP, but the parents have notice the shift to getting more USYNT spots than before.
