So what is the reason for this union to support Trump? He’s against overtime. He’s for tariffs (so fewer imports and the protectionism will harm exports) so no work.

I’m baffled.

Trump is against importing scabs.

Unless it involves building his own tacky buildings...or do you just ignore he did that?

Democrats have been saying abortion is the #1 concern voters are determining their vote upon, but according to this poll, that’s untrue.

Republicans hate unions.

Oddly enough I know some longshoremen and they are all MAGAs, and don't seem to see the irony.

Pretty much. Enjoy the rotten banana stench on the dumped ships alongside your $5 a roll TP.

They hear what they want to hear.

Low taxes; kick out them illegals. That's it.

They don't hear about how Rs hate unions, or that they don't really support living wages. They think capitalism means "only hire American workers with good pay". They think "brink back the jobs" means that we will have more jobs for Americans, not realizing that their jobs rely on goods being imported.

Imagine if we didn't import 90% of our goods. We wouldn't need that many dock workers.

I don't know if it's cognitive dissonance or plain stupidity.

So Biden and Kamala (she IS still a VP with $hit to do for that) will continue to do and say nothing.

Dont wanna loose big labor and public unions and private unions.

Obviously public unions- directly paid by taxpayers- like Mr walz and the public teachers union could care less. They write their own benies to themselves to approve.

Old Joe is going to be sitting on Rehoboth Beach relaxing and eating ice cream while chaos ensues.
When people who are conspiring against you make a strategic error and their plans boomerang, let it play out. Biden is smart to not intervene. We see the trap.

Read some facts. Two days ago BIDEN pressured the employer poets to counter with 50% raise when they were going with 30-40%.

They went back with 50% and that empowered the corrupt union more.

Biden’s move.
Biden’s next move is to wait while the media, left and right, expose Daggett and his friendship with Trump. Despite your wishful thinking it's Trump who people will blame.

Love the passivity and wishful thinking strategy, yet again.

It's a tough position for Biden/Harris.

If they prevented the strike from happening then they appear to be both anti-union and communist. Neither is helpful in the must win state of Michigan.

If they let it go on through the election then the economy tanks and unions like the Teamsters and UAW are harmed. That's also not good for the election (or America).

Meanwhile the ILA demands are absurd and their leader is cartoonishly evil but they seem reasonablish on the surface. The longer this strike goes on the more information about Daggett, the demands, the current contract and the impact comes out. This then gives Biden a chance to do something without as many negative consequences.

At the same time, Daggett has been lying pretty blatantly about CEO pay and corporate profits which amplifies Dem messaging on corporatism. So there's a small side benefit.

I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt now but if this lasts more than two weeks...

Do t run for president or VP if you’re not going to make timely tough decisions.

Do little puddly stuff elsewhere. Not with the whole country and economy.

So what ports are they using?
Small independent ones that require small ships or boats?

Some unions support her, others aren't. The ones that aren't, if Trump wins, will learn the hard way.
