The opinions of any of us on this forum don't matter and will have no impact whatsoever on someone who can't maintain close family relationships with anyone in her husband's family or anyone on either side of her own family, other than her mother.

FFS,clearly you only read the entertainment forum on DCUM. Almost half the complaints on this board are about folks have disowned their mothers, brothers and won't even pick up their elderly fathers from the airport. He11, I haven't spoken to my father (He was a d1ck)or any member of his family in nearly 20 years.

I've read enough to know and been around long enough to know that what I wrote about her lack of closeness to ANY family members other than her mother is very atypical.

?? She's an only child of two parents. One of those parents has behaved absolutely horrendously, so I don't blame Meghan for giving him the cold shoulder. What exactly is atypical about that?

Also remember that Samantha Markle's own daughter and mother called Samantha out for being obsessive about Meghan, and said that Meghan had always been nothing but kind.

You're omitting parts of what I wrote. Sure, if dad and that side of family are truly horrendous (although she has those genes, too), then I'd understand. That leaves her mom's family and Harry's family, but she's not close to them either. Do you honestly think everyone is at fault but Meghan??
Doria Markle is an only child. Her parents are deceased. What family. Doria is her family. In regards to Harry's family, half you heifers on DCUM biatch and moan about your in-laws and have wished you did not have to deal with your own in-laws. Besides, it's not her responsibility to have a relationship with her husband's family, especially if he does not want to.

Responsibility? No. Still strange to have no close family relationships out of all the possibilities.

DP. At the risk of pointing out the obvious here, you have no idea what the dynamic is like with either side her family. You're presuming that she had a close knit immediate and extended family her entire life and then dropped them when she met Harry. You have no idea whether her parents were close with their extended families. You have no idea whether she was close with any extended family growing up. Yet you're SO SURE that any lack of closeness on both sides MUST be her fault, regardless of all the other people involved or what may have occurred between family members over the years. Your insistence that she is the cause of the dynamic in her family is downright bizarre.

I have never said it was her fault or that she is the cause of the dynamic in her family; however, that degree of dysfunction is not typical and has spilled over into her relationships with her in-laws.

You are implying that she is at the root of the dysfunction by stating that it's "strange" she has no close family relationships. Don't try to walk it back now.

Also, "that degree of dysfunction" is much more common than you think. It's just that most of us don't get our dirty laundry aired for the world to see so you may not be aware of it. Honestly, there's nothing all that unusual about her family dynamic other than the entire world knows all about it.

Not walking back anything. I will repeat. It's not her fault that she comes from a dysfunctional family, but it HAS affected her and it is NOT typical to have no close family relationships other than one's mom and husband.

I totally agree.

I also think the tone and nastiness shown by Meghan towards Kate during the interview was unmistakable.

Did you actually watch the interview? Kate and Meghan are not friends and clearly never were. She’s not obligated to decline to correct a misconception about who made who cry. You really expect her to be Jesus Christ.

Of course they didn’t watch they interview! They just do what they always do, accuse Meghan of being the devil and responsible for all the wrongs of the world. Because she has that much power.

DP. I watched the interview. In pieces, over time, since watching it straight through was just too painful.

It was awful, as any tell-all interview would be. They complained so much, emoted so much pain, but said nothing of substance. Just two hours of extreme angst. And some potshots at various mostly unnamed family members. But the Queen is great!

All while Philip was laying on his deathbed.

Did William or Charles account for how Meghan was feeling while pregnant and suicidal while they allowed their tabloids to publish lies about her? For people that say america should not care about the British monarchy, you sure do care about their feelings a lot.

Since you all want to bring up Phillip, anyone find it strange that there are no pictures of him and his grandchildren...just playing.

I can't find any. I've seen a few of him with Charles/Anne/Andrew/Edward as kids - fishing, biking, running etc. More of course with him just standing looking Princely. The only photos I can find with him, William, and Harry are on official engagements. I did find a cute one of Peter Phillips as a kid and Prince Phillip - truly enjoying each other's company.

Maybe Harry didn't rush over to Phillip's bedside or stop the interview because the relationship was barely there to begin with. That's on top of the fact that no one has said anything about how the family felt about Phillip living with his mistress at Wood Farm for the last 4-5 years and essentially separated from the Queen.

A lot of it was proven lies. This is a couple that was nudged out because it was clearly not a good fit for either them or the RF. They are extremely bitter because they did not get the deal they wanted. They somehow thought that they were on par with or had more leverage than the heir to the throne, and were entitled to the same perks and connections while having none of the pressures or intense spotlight. They have been having a public tantrum for three years now, determined to drag down the heirs to the throne in a public soap opera.

What sane person would want the non-heir deal? No long term financial security whatsoever. It only works if there is true love and affection between the heir and their spare sibling that allows them to override their own self interest. And clearly that is no longer there for William and Harry. Also European history is full of examples of younger and half siblings plotting and murdering their siblings for the throne (and some of these people are their relatives). Yet it’s a scandal that they moved to a different country?

That's like saying what sane person would chose to be a C-suite executive if they could not be CEO. I would say most sane people would, unless they could do better. The Sussexes are perfectly entitled to live their life as they see fit, to pursue opportunities and take risks. However, they need to stand by their decisions and gambles, and stop slandering, blaming others, mocking or desperately trying to monetize a brand they did not build . Go your own way in a dignified way, the Japanese princess could teach them a thing or two.

C-suite executives get paid big bucks. They also get full benefits. PTO. Stock options. Non-heir's get nothing.

Slandering? Blaming others? Mocking? You seem to be deep in the QAnon equivalent of Meghan Markle-land.

DP. I think Meghan and Harry were more than happy to be in the "C-suite executive" alternative to the "CEO" and had zero aspirations for the throne. But they were too good at their job, too popular, and were calculatedly and backhandedly ousted by said "CEO".

Meghan never felt suicidal.

You have a completely distorted idea of the relationship between the RF and the tabloids if you think the RF "allows" tabloids to print anything. If that was so, the tampon tapes would have never emerged.

DP. I'm sure you say the same about victims of SA? "Where's the proof of the assault? You don't sound or act or look like someone who would have been r*ped. I don't believe you." Real standup human being you are!

Not the PP but it seems like you believe anyone and everyone except Meghan. She actually does have a lot of long term friends that came to the wedding, friends from college, etc. but they don’t speak to the media about it so it gets no publicity. Her coworkers from Suits (and other movies) speak highly of her. But again, that gets no traction with you because it would mean Meghan is actually human.

I’m the PP who noted the tone towards Middleton. Yes, I watched it, and it was obvious Meghan was infuriated, wanted to wound, and it’s just pathetic to be 39 and say buhhhhh actually SHE made ME cry. That’s for 7 year olds. But it’s of a piece with her character.
