Almost half the complaints on this board are about folks have disowned their mothers, brothers and won't even pick up their elderly fathers from the airport. I've read enough to know and been around long enough to know that what I wrote about her lack of closeness to ANY family members other than her mother is very atypical.

You're omitting parts of what I wrote. Sure, if dad and that side of family are truly horrendous (although she has those genes, too), then I'd understand. That leaves her mom's family and Harry's family, but she's not close to them either. Do you honestly think everyone is at fault but Meghan??

Doria Markle is an only child. Her parents are deceased. What family. Doria is her family. In regards to Harry's family, half you heifers on DCUM biatch and moan about your in-laws and have wished you did not have to deal with your own in-laws. Besides, it's not her responsibility to have a relationship with her husband's family, especially if he does not want to.

Yet you're SO SURE that any lack of closeness on both sides MUST be her fault, regardless of all the other people involved or what may have occurred between family members over the years. Your insistence that she is the cause of the dynamic in her family is downright bizarre.

I have never said it was her fault or that she is the cause of the dynamic in her family; however, that degree of dysfunction is not typical and has spilled over into her relationships with her in-laws.

Also, "that degree of dysfunction" is much more common than you think. It's just that most of us don't get our dirty laundry aired for the world to see so you may not be aware of it. Honestly, there's nothing all that unusual about her family dynamic other than the entire world knows all about it.

Did you actually watch the interview? Kate and Meghan are not friends and clearly never were. She’s not obligated to decline to correct a misconception about who made who cry. You really expect her to be Jesus Christ.

We get it. She wants the title. She wants the money. She wants the power (This is the Duchess of Sussex calling..."). She wants very little contact with anyone in Harry's family or her own. She wants us to think her behavior and time spent on Oprah criticizing her new in-laws in a show broadcast to the world is all perfectly normal behavior. It's not. No one is perfect, but the impact of the dysfunction in her family and upbringing is obvious.

DP. I watched the interview. In pieces, over time, since watching it straight through was just too painful.

It was awful, as any tell-all interview would be. They complained so much, emoted so much pain, but said nothing of substance. Just two hours of extreme angst. And some potshots at various mostly unnamed family members. But the Queen is great!

A lot of it was proven lies. This is a couple that was nudged out because it was clearly not a good fit for either them or the RF. They are extremely bitter because they did not get the deal they wanted. They somehow thought that they were on par with or had more leverage than the heir to the throne, and were entitled to the same perks and connections while having none of the pressures or intense spotlight. They have been having a public tantrum for three years now, determined to drag down the heirs to the throne in a public soap opera.

Ok, so if everyone gets it then why are people who still picking apart this interview forever? I saw the interview. I think Meghan and Harry are incredibly tone deaf and whiny. But I don’t get why there are no expectations on anyone else in the family? What sane person would want the non-heir deal? No long term financial security whatsoever. It only works if there is true love and affection between the heir and their spare sibling that allows them to override their own self interest. And clearly that is no longer there for William and Harry. Also European history is full of examples of younger and half siblings plotting and murdering their siblings for the throne (and some of these people are their relatives). Yet it’s a scandal that they moved to a different country?

Even with true love and affection they get screwed. Margaret and Elizabeth were extremely close as children, they only played with each other, and into adulthood. Margaret was there for every pivotal moment in Liz's life. But when it came time to marry the man she loved, a perfectly respectful army officer and equerry (assistant) to their dead father the King (so you know he was above board), her sister denied her the wedding. She didn't just deny it, she strung her along for like 3 years before saying flat out no.

The only thing Margaret had was a few apartments, whatever jewelry her sister let her borrow, and a allowance of whatever Liz decided she was worth that year.

And it wasn't just Margaret. Look at Andrew and Charles. The former is a f**king disgrace but the reason he is scrounging around for cash from billionaires, despots, moguls etc is because he wasn't given an inheritance of $21 million A YEAR from the age of six like his brother Charles.

+1 And given Meghan's background and the family in which she grew up, it was all top much for her to handle. Even if Kate had been perfect towards Meghan, Kate represents a heritage and future that would Meghan k owe she could never have.

You have no idea about the relationship she has with her mother’s family. Best I know Doris has 2 older half siblings, she is the only child that her parents have together. In the rare occasions that the maternal side of the family have spoken it has been positive.

You are wasting your breath. The woman has no relationship with her mother, let alone her mother’s family. Did not even send a condolences card or message to her uncle’s family on his passing just a few months ago. Meghan only has transactional relationships.

This is the uncle on her mother’s side. She obviously did not send a note of condolence to the uncle on her father’s side who got her the embassy job either.

There is a difference between not being perfect and having a PATTERN of callous behavior and inability to build or maintain relationships. She has no relationships or long term ties with anyone. She interacts on transactional terms only. Even Trump does better than her in this regard.

?? She's an only child of two parents. One of those parents has behaved absolutely horrendously, so I don't blame Meghan for giving him the cold shoulder. What exactly is atypical about that?

Also remember that Samantha Markle's own daughter and mother called Samantha out for being obsessive about Meghan, and said that Meghan had always been nothing but kind.

You're omitting parts of what I wrote. Sure, if dad and that side of family are truly horrendous (although she has those genes, too), then I'd understand. That leaves her mom's family and Harry's family, but she's not close to them either. Do you honestly think everyone is at fault but Meghan??

Doria Markle is an only child. Her parents are deceased. What family. Doria is her family. In regards to Harry's family, half you heifers on DCUM biatch and moan about your in-laws and have wished you did not have to deal with your own in-laws. Besides, it's not her responsibility to have a relationship with her husband's family, especially if he does not want to.

You're presuming that she had a close knit immediate and extended family her entire life and then dropped them when she met Harry. You have no idea whether her parents were close with their extended families. You have no idea whether she was close with any extended family growing up. Yet you're SO SURE that any lack of closeness on both sides MUST be her fault, regardless of all the other people involved or what may have occurred between family members over the years. Your insistence that she is the cause of the dynamic in her family is downright bizarre.

I have never said it was her fault or that she is the cause of the dynamic in her family; however, that degree of dysfunction is not typical and has spilled over into her relationships with her in-laws.

You are implying that she is at the root of the dysfunction by stating that it's "strange" she has no close family relationships. Don't try to walk it back now.

Also, "that degree of dysfunction" is much more common than you think. It's just that most of us don't get our dirty laundry aired for the world to see so you may not be aware of it. Honestly, there's nothing all that unusual about her family dynamic other than the entire world knows all about it.

Did you actually watch the interview? Kate and Meghan are not friends and clearly never were. She’s not obligated to decline to correct a misconception about who made who cry. You really expect her to be Jesus Christ.

DP. I watched the interview. In pieces, over time, since watching it straight through was just too painful.

It was awful, as any tell-all interview would be. They complained so much, emoted so much pain, but said nothing of substance. Just two hours of extreme angst. And some potshots at various mostly unnamed family members. But the Queen is great!
