Actually even before congratulating us for the birth of our first child.
How would you feel? |
I would feel exhausted from just giving birth and not have much time to worry about anything except taking care of my new baby and getting some sleep. |
Congratulations!
"Special moments" are for children. Just because she wants to act like a child doesn't mean you should act like one too. |
Get over it. Focus on your baby. |
The world doesn't stop because you had a child. He timing sucks, but she probably has been bursting at the seams to tell people. Move on and focus on your baby.... Who will soon have a cousin / future play mate in the family. |
How was SIl acting like a child? |
I would feel kinda crappy because I'm low, petty and immature for even taking the time to post such a question when I have newborn baby to love and care for. |
She sounds selfish, but I think you should focus on all the good in front of you rather than the little bit of annoying. |
And? |
Unable to keep her news to herself for just a few minutes more, until after she focused everything on OP. You know how kids will interrupt you in the middle of a conversation just to share something that is of great importance to them? This is how the SIL acted. OP, on the other hand, is acting like a teenager. She's upset that everyone isn't focused on her 100% and now wants everyone at the lunch table to agree with her. "Oh no she didn't!?!" |
How far along is she? |
I'd be delighted! What fun for my child to have a cousin so close in age. And how natural that in her excitement about your child's arrival she shared her news.
Double congratulations! |
I don't think she was trying to steal your thunder, Op. If anything she lessened the amount of attention that she got by announcing when she did.
It's not like she announced some sort of devastating news (that could have waited) on your baby's birthday. She simply shared in your happiness. |
huh? is this even an issue? why wouldn't you be excited for her and you child who will have a playmate? |
Well OP, how did you feel? |
