Johnny Depp trial in Fairfax County

I agree with the jury.

They had a terrible marriage, and neither is a good person. However he played his cards right and will now seek reputational rehabilitation on the strength of this decision, whereas she will have a harder time.

I agree, also the fact that men predominated on the jury (why did her lawyers allow that??) and he had far better lawyers.

It's been proven that men tend to find in favor of women and women on jury are harsh on other women.

Yes I think most men and women would consider her behavior fairly normal for a wife. I can not think of anything that was abusive.

I think she is a liar but don’t think that every single thing she said was a lie and that if he did abuse her (not necessarily physically) then it’s not defamation.

Basically seems like jury nullification based on his celebrity.

That is false. She claimed physical and sexual abuse, those are the parts of the op-ed that he won on. It was defamation because she didn't prove physical or sexual abuse.

Emotional abuse or being an alcoholic/addict wasn't the charge

Oh please. This at least proved that if you are going to accuse someone of something you have to at least have valid evidence. Which she did not have.

Actually, he was the one who had to prove that he didn’t abuse her. That’s part of the problem here, people confusing the standard.

She had two non-friend witnesses testify to seeing injuries on her face. How is that not valid evidence?

Only one of her counter-claims was successful and that wasn't even against Depp but his agent and was for only $2M.

Furthermore, in the court of public opinion, I don't think Depp has ever been more popular. She, though....I don't think she's going to have many opportunities going forward.

No. Any decent human thinks he’s a POS after this.

The campaign online to clear Depp is just another form of MAGA in this country.

Like literally…when you’re a star, they let you do it - here - the “it” is beat your wife.

Completely unsurprised by the disgusting Pieces of Sh!T that surround us here in the good ol’ USA!

Yup. This whole thread is a reflection of the idiotic MAGA trash plaguing our country.

Sad but true.

Except she was clearly abusive as well, trying to 'catch' him by taping drunk moments that had nothing to do with her.

The jury was right.

Agree, and this was Variety's take on his career as of 23 hours ago:

Johnny Depp said he has lost tens of millions of dollars due to Amber Heard’s allegations of domestic violence, but the testimony showed that he was a star in serious decline even before the allegations, and was virtually unemployable by major studios.

Maybe Variety was paid to write a pro Heard article as others have accused other publications of writing pro Depp articles for payment.

He didn't beat his wife.

I agree PP. She's not innocent - but neither is he. If you watch the video of his slamming the cabinets, and read the texts such as "let's m u r d e r Amber", I mean he's not the only victim here. They both abused each other.

The case was about defamation, not abuse.

He did not sexually or physically abuse her. She made written statements that he did.

What statements did she make that specifically noted sexual or physical abuse? The op-Ed referenced abuse but didn’t specify.

Shitting on your marital bed is 'normal' for a wife? I do not want to know what your marriage is like.
