How is this interview not going to explode international attention on them? They launched grenades at a sovereign and now they will be hounded beyond their worst nightmares by the press. In the meantime, I don't know how many fauxlebrities are going to want to associate with them.

Huh? they already had international exploded attention. but now they control their own protection.

Uh, if I had given up my job, citizenship and my life to launch into this endeavor out of love. It not going according to plan in my mid-30s would be terrifying. I think ti's awful how badly they fared/feel despite all the trappings. Racism knows no bounds.

Exactly! Yet another, shut up and take it narrative here in the land of unbridled racism! SHe should have just endured being under lock and key... cause silver spoon!

The family and the Firm are not the same thing, and neither of them were using the terms interchangeably (although they were pointing out that the overlap between the two is at least awkward, at times dangerous).

Straight out of the Diana playbook. She seriously studied her interviews I am sure. The pauses, the insinuations, the you fill in the blanks, the we were left on our own without protection. It's almost word for word.

THIS. They are so concerned with their safety that they just had to...do a tell-all on Oprah disparaging an entire country and establish a media career? Common sense says they need to stay out of the limelight as much as possible if they are such a security target. There were plenty of other ways they could have made money.

“My black friends....” please stop there. Turn around. Go back. Have a sit and think on why you should perhaps not comment?

You truly think all your comments about Meghan are just that, not clouded by decades of being conditioned to view women, particularly Black women, as hysterical, irrational, and playing the victim.
I am saying this with all honesty and well intentions; please, please look into what racial bias is and how you are unaware of it. Once you start realizing what it is and how it manifests, I am hopeful that many here will realize that they truly didn't know they were engaged in it.
Because you were conditioned to think you are just telling it like it is.

But, racial power structures are so ingrained in the culture that you truly believe you are not saying or acting in a racist way, even when you are.
Even BBC is acknowledging that this must be addressed, but not the majority of white dcum.

My black friends think she is entitled and spoiled. I don’t think you are reading the room correctly.

Oprah was not buying it either. Frankly, she fit the part of an “entitled Karen” more.

If you go to the main popular African American forum lipstick alley they are all outraged at Meghan’s treatment and supportive of her.

Like Harry they bought the Kool Aid.

I think the people saying Oprah didn't buy it haven't watched a lot of Oprah. When she is skeptical, you really know it. Oprah believes Meghan.

Prince Harry? Be serious. Staying out of the limelight is not an option.

Does anyone know if it's possible to watch it again? I missed most of it because of kid bedtime (and forgot to DVR it!) I signed up for Paramount + but it doesn't seem to be available there.

Honestly my impression was that Kate was thrashed far more than Meghan. Kate did what was expected of her and ultimately earned some respect, but it did take a very long time. That's how it works. Meghan wasn't willing to play that game, and although I don't blame her for that, at some point she needs to sit down and acknowledge the unbelievable privilege of having a husband with a trust fund that allows you to do whatever you please. I mean seriously, go enjoy the private life in your mansion you say you wanted and stop with the attention-seeking behavior.

I don't think you were paying attention, then.

I’m looking too. It wasn’t possible to watch and thought it would be easier to locate in full. Only finding clips and commentary.

Archie didn't have security before stepping away. As an infant, he is mostly with his parents. But as he aged this would be an issue.

Let’s be transparent, Archie was covered under his father’s umbrella. There was no immediate security concern.

There's a security concern in a few years once he's out of the early childhood years.

What happens when Archie goes off to boarding school? Spends the night at a sleepover birthday party? Or his mom and dad want to celebrate their anniversary and leave Archie with a nanny for the weekend? Etc.

Parents need time to be adults. They've already had one scare in Africa with Archie while the parents were doing their tour duties. The kid needs his own security - he is a target.

What was the scare they had? I tried googling but didn't seem to find anything.

Ah, she was an actress.

Oh please, no big deal. They were merely saying other black people aren't buying her phony racist nonsense. In other words most see through her.

How long was Kate part of the family before she got pregnant? Exactly. She endured years of press abuse when they were dating and then the first few years of their marriage before she got pregnant. MM didn’t even make it a year.
