Fed Hiring Freeze

I had a tentative offer before 1/22 and still no news. My current agency did on-board two employees this week.

DH who is currently Navy just got told by AF that they are asking for waivers for all positions in limbo, and if not granted by April 9, then they will be re-advertised.

Anyone else still holding out hope that pre-freeze TO will be honored? I spoke with my HR contact today and he said decisions are still being made...

Any news or changes on hiring freezing? are we half way there before 90 days?

I wouldn't count on anything to change (unless its Defense). From what I'm hearing - there are going to be pretty major cuts to many agencies.

Clearly not the best time to join Fed. First come, first go when RIF happens.

My agency has said no advertisements (with very few exceptions), and no movement on previously-advertised positions till the freeze is lifted - no on-boarding, no interviews, nothing.

I have a number of applications for internal positions on hold, apparently no exemptions for internal transfers either. Thankfully I can wait it out but still annoying.

Any news and changes? Is 90 days freeze almost over?

I was contacted this week for a position I applied for back in... Dec or early Jan? Agency not decimated by Trump's budget proposal.

I'd love to hear any news at all. Last I was in touch with my HR rep was about three weeks ago. Basically they said there's no news and that if I was going to be given a FO, they'd get in touch. I am utterly desperate to leave my current job (non-fed) and am trying to stay hopeful, but it's hard. The position I was given a TO for is in the press office of a USDA agency. So I may be doomed on two counts--job itself not considered critical, and agency facing budget cuts. I am still stunned and sad that I FINALLY got the chance to re-join the feds in a dream job, and Trump took it away.

USDA is not approving final job offers for anyone who is not already a USDA employee.

I've been checking the USAJOBS.gov website and lately I see some financial regulators positions popping up (OCC & FDIC). I think for a while (all of FEB and March), there were none. So far, I only see positions in DC, but I'm hoping to see more around the positions.

$&^%&^!! Really? Now or even after the freeze? You don't have to disclose details, but are you in a position to know this for sure?
