I would love to see what Kate eats over the course of a week.

it would fit in a cereal bowl. there's no other secret.

the lesser royals have the sweetest deal: all the connections and $$$ with very little scrutiny unless they choose to be papped. it's much better to be someone obscure and obscenely wealthy and pampered like lady margarita armstrong-jones, whom nobody knows unless they are a british royal family afficionado, than to be the princess of wales.

Not everyone thinks that dealing with all of that is worth being future Queen consort. And it’s not a merit based position. She could do everything right and William could literally wake up tomorrow and decide he doesn’t want to be King or that he’d actually prefer to be married to someone else or he could even get hit by a Sophie’s motorcade and Queen consort is gone in the blink of an eye.

Just calling it like I see it, pretty neutral here. I really don’t like the toxicity of pitting the two women against each other. They’re clearly very different; that’s ok with me. I do think William thinks he’s #1 above Kate, whereas Harry puts Meghan ahead of himself.

+1. I like Kate, I just think William seems like he sucks. My impression is that William treats those close to him fairly poorly, whether it's his younger brother or his wife, and that Kate and Harry have just taken very different approaches to dealing with it, in part because it's different being an adult sibling than being a spouse/mother of his kids.

Well said, PP. I actually admire the hell out of Harry for putting his wife above everything and getting her the hell out of that toxic situation.

I admit that I think Kate is very unhappy with William (and I’ve posted as much), but I feel very confident that she’ll do what she thinks is best for her children.

Your speculation about both marriages and all four individuals sounds like a reflection of your own issues -- not theirs.

And your unawareness of how awful male hereditary monarchs have been throughout history and the basics of childhood dysfunction and trauma of all of these people save Kate is a reflection of your poor education.

WOW. Nasty assumptions about a couple that we personally know nothing about. They present as a close family, and I believe that, as the children clearly love and are loved by their parents. Children are not actors.

Yes but I'm sure the BRF/KCIII would find a role for Kate. And parliament would scramble to codify so William couldn't undo it when he bc king.

Well, we are in 2023 now. And just ended an era of 70 years of a QUEEN in charge. William is not stupid. He did not even want to do this but they are doing it very well so far.

And not sure why the need for personal insults about other posters’ educations here.

Where do get the idea that he didn’t want to be the heir? Certainly never my impression. Or do you mean he didn’t want to marry Kate? Because, yeah, that’s why he made her wait around for a decade while he dated anything with legs and a title, and even cheated on her when they were technically together.

70 years of matriarch doesn’t change the very typical behavior of patriarchs if nothing else about the system has changed. William is entitled and petulant and always has been.

All of this animosity to wards a couple that are doing their jobs. The monarchy does not affect us in any way, so I like watching royals and their often weird rituals, clothes, lifestyles etc..

The same! I would never want to live in a country with a monarchy but u love observing their rituals, traditions and the Pomp and circumstance. Why assume William and Kate are anything but what they appear??? Two independent people who freely chose each other as young adults, took their time being sure before they settled down, and are raising what is visibly a happy family while working in the family biz. Why assume otherwise? Why so much hate?
It’s different to have an opinion on Harry and MM because they constantly put themselves out there and solicit input through their overexposure. It’s not the same thing.

Lots of folks are social climbers—just not many are to the extent that Kate was. A ten-year commitment takes a lot of dedication.

See?? This is reprehensible. She met someone, they clicked, and didn’t commit to someone else until their story played out. I actually did the same with my husband…. We met at 21 and married at 30… I wasn’t “waiting around” I was actively involved in my own life and living it happily while he lived his… when the time was right he proposed and we are happy married and going on 25 years! Wtf, let them be!

What I want to know is how it works between Kings/Kings to be when they need favors?

Do we think William called Felipe and said "Hey, I see your boy is in the Wimbledon final. Wanna hang in the Royal box with us to watch?"

Or Felipe called William and said "My guy is playing in the Wimbledon Final tomorrow. Can you kick someone out of the Royal Box so I can watch instead? I owe you"

I think the Royals look overall happier because Elizabeth is gone and Charles is now in charge. Charles is going to Charles. He's not as strict (or frankly smart/effective) as Elizabeth.

Right now is the time for Kate to take her shoes off & have some fun!

LOL what you insulted someone’s “own issues” and now are crying about your ignorance being pointed out? What does Queen Elizabeth have to do with William? She had a completely different upbringing and a very happy childhood. The UK has also historically had much better female monarchs than male.
