Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS)
For all you know, Marotta doesn’t want the gig at Navy. |
The original principal left some big shoes to fill for sure! He was just the best principal. I hope he comes back after taking some time off for reflection and soul searching. Who is Marotta? |
Seriously? |
Really? He was a little flat to be honest. Not really dynamic. |
Remember the time when he got taped to the wall? That was kind of dynamic. |
He was a good principal. Sadly, he also started the year with his student body sharing his mug shot amongst themselves in group chats. It’s time to move on. |
I recall when he left at one point to go to a middle school and they made the AP at the time the acting principal. He eventually came back but he was gone for a good part of the year. It's not that far fetched is what I am getting at. |
No I don’t. And I meant flat in terms of public speaking. |
What expectations do you have? Loud and flamboyant? He was adequate. The current principal is also fine from a parent pov. |
| The kids really like Mr. Meier. |
Adequate until he decided to drive drunk during the day and flee the scene of an accident. |
Yes! I saw him a few times come into the cafeteria and walk around talking to the kids. He made some jokes about being bald and the kids thought it was so funny. In the past, on the occasional times I have popped in for lunch, I have never seen the old principal do this. He seemed to just walk around the school and look around but didn't really stop to interact with the kids, of course this is just my observation. |
| I thought Mr. Coch was a decent principal. I emailed him a couple of times with different concerns and received an immediate response. I am sad to see Marotta go, and yes the kids seem to like the interim principal. I am in favor of redemption but I do not see how Mr. Coch can return when the student body has seen his mug shot and I had to explain driving drunk to my young elementary school kid. I think the school could benefit from some new young energy to help build a stronger community. There really is a divide at the school, especially among the AAP/Gen Ed kids in the upper grades. |
I also think Mr. Meier is nice. I go to school once a week to volunteer and have seen him many times, he always says thanks to me when he walks in the school hallways. He replied my email ( regarding my special need kid) too. |
| Hopefully we know more after meeting with Reid today. |
