Hayfield Football Coach Fired

Hayfield isn’t the strongest football team in the country nor in Virginia, but it’s not transparent to say they wouldn’t be competitive in any high school game.

thanks for the report (sincerely) - although not sure if I'd classify 75-0 halftime beatdown as "without incident"... the "incident" just took place in the pre-season....

He got some footage for the college scouts and then put the bench in second half. Nothing wrong with that. He’s trying to help his players.

People trying to make Hayfield this incredible super tea, IF you know football, you know they are not. This is about execution of the plays called. Edison is simply NOT well coached, you cannot blame Hayfield for when they throw an interception, when they fumble a snap near the end zone or flat out missed tackles. The refs have called a pretty even game, they are definitely baiting some players to react, so let’s see how disciplined they truly are. Prime example is Edison cheered for blocking an extra point like they had scored. The game was over in the first quarter, tbh.

The main coach spearheading all this was Pannoni, and instead of preparing his team, he’s getting beat on pretty good himself. Could be karma or could be coaching. Guess we’ll see who’s next, seems to be Fairfax.

All in all security around field, no more than 50 Edison fans, probably 150 Hayfield fans including kids running around on Hayfield sidelines, on this chilly brisk night. No parent rants, nothing.

How did Edison beat Hayfield last year if the coaches are so bad? Also, it was a home game for Hayfield and there were hardly any students there. Just parents. That says a lot.

They are 3-7 yes it’s safe to say he not a good coach, nothing to do with this one game.

Edison is 4-6 this season. They beat Hayfield last year with the same coach.

Can’t win without talent, no matter how good the coaches are. Good coaches situate themselves to get talent.

Public school coaches get the talent that lives in their boundary. If they recruit, they are breaking the rules they agreed to play under. Overton is a cheat.

Not really much of a second "half" with a running clock and early end.

Thanks for the report. Safe travels back to Woodbridge.

Gotta love when all leaders at FCPS set accounts to private

If she uses.that account to speak for FCPS is that not unethical and possibly a way for her to get sued?

Proves my point about in so many ways,
*Aziz was not that good of a coach good man bad coach
*even at 4-6 (thought I read 3-7) they shouldn’t be in playoffs
*Hayfield I believe still win district but lost in first round

Kids were all over that place walking around I guess with some new trend of ski goggles on there heads

VHSL--the people who make the rules--said Overton was a very bad coach.

Aziz did a great job coaching the actual talent at Hayfield.
