Political Discussion
Have you seen a map of his district? A district that voted for trump. He wouldn’t be doing this if it wasn’t going to help him win. |
He's going to lose. Voters in his district would not have flipped to vote for him in 2018 if they were happy with Trump and the Republicans. |
Wow. Someone who doesn't even know there is a Constitution, never mind having ever read it. The answer is NO. Impeachment is reserved for the President and federal judges. Whether it applies to a VP has never been tested (Agnew resigned) but I would presume not--not, anyway, until he became President. You might like this line from the Constitution convention: July 20, 1787, William Davie: If he be not impeachable whilst in office, he will spare no efforts or means whatever to get himself re-elected. He considered this as an essential security for the good behaviour of the Executive. In my personal view, this is the single most applicable statement by one of the Framers regarding Trump. |
| Dems know why they did this. Because it is the right thing to do. Because it is what law demands. Because Trump will get bad press, and there is a better chance of him losing the next election. |
Without impeachment, we probably would never have heard from the witnesses who testified during the inquiry. Now the American people have an even clearer picture of an inept, selfish, corrupt POTUS. And yes, many Americans don't care, but that's besides the point. |
Trump won by 5 points, Obama won by 8 points in 2012. It's hardly a ruby-red district. |
Good riddance to bad rubbish. |
| Already one Congress critter has defected from DNC to GOP over this. A second one is about to. |
So what? Anyone who would think about defecting right now is a DINO anyway. |
| And one of the Republicans left the Republican Party over this. did you forget already? |
Anyone who cannot support truth and law is welcome to leave the position. Why is anyone allowed to hold onto a position when they defect the party? |
1) No, Donald Trump cannot impeach the House. Read the Constitution. 2) No, we don't need a wall. See how easy it is for those who want to to scale the "Trump Design" so easily. 3) Mexico was supposed to pay for the wall. Instead taxpayer dollars that were supposed to go to schools for our children of military are not being built. 4) Read the Constitution, it is the responsibility of the House to develop the budget. Elections have consequences. 5) Who has controlled the House for the decade prior to this year and what deficit did they run? Who is the president now who presided over the current GOP budget, including the tax cut that spurred the $1T deficit that you are complaining about? 6) So you are for an authoritarian government rather than a bi-cameral, three branch government of the USA? Then go find another country. |
So much Constitution to read, isn’t there? Just exhausting. Let me help. No, the President cannot impeach anyone. Now, under the Appropriations and Statements and Accounts clauses of - that’s right - the Constitution, Congress has the power of the purse. Finally, that pesky Constitution establishes the Congress including the House. I have tried to keep it simple and use small words. Questions? |
Many other witnesses were suppressed. Do you care? |
