I like her for that, too, but that’s also why I like Warren. |
It should be Rice. The GOP only has Benghazi and if they want to make the campaign about who is liar, the Democrats are way out in front of that one. Besides, she is a voice or stability and experience in the unstable Global position we have put ourselves in with China, Russian, Iran and North Korea. She also bring our allies back into the fold that Trump has alienated. I am not a person to back away from a fight and I’d rather fight the fight we know or than the skeletons in the closets of some of these other candidates. |
I’m the first reply who said Biden probably has Rice as his #1. I actually like Susan Rice a lot and think she comes off as very personable and smart. BUT, she’s a Certified GOP Boogeyman, right up there with Hillary Clinton and Eric Holder. Maybe that doesn’t matter this election cycle, I don’t know. At least her baggage is all out there already vs. being surprised by something. |
I like Rice, but she can do all of this as Sec State. I sadly agree she's too much of a GOP bogeyman(woman). |
I like Warren too. I read her book The Two Income Trap a long time ago. It really explained the middle class was cash strapped and single moms were falling even further behind. Biden should pick Whitmer or Duckworth. I agree Rice could be Sec of State. |
So this is the stuff that gives me such reservation around her politically. It just seems like a very slipppery slope with her. The timing for her interest is all wrong, because she doesn’t have any recent meaningful action that contradicts her historic action. And current public persona. Add that in with the very obvious oppo dumps when we have been strengthened in a unified campaign otherwise — it just stinks to me. Stinks. |
DP, and largely agree. It’s always been Whitmer as the wisest pick with all things being equal. Still think Grisham is a strong parallel to her, but Whitmer has some national recognition because she is “that woman”. |
+1 The Biden team knows all this, trust. I think the Dodd comments were deliberately leaked to prepare the public for her not being the pick. |
And the Midwest strategy > Southwest strategy. |
Oh yes, i agree. |
Kamala Harris won't be the pick. There's too much bad blood between the two and it doesn't look like Biden ever got over the accusation of racism . I'm glad that Harris has stood her ground and personally I hope she declines a cabinet position if it's offered to her . She'll be more effective and have more influence being a senator than essentially sitting on an ejectable chair which is what cabinet positions are. |
Joe Biden isn't going to pick a white woman for the Veep no matterr how many times some of you middled aged white women on dcum fantasize over it . But you know what ? I really want Biden —who is only marginally better than trump intellectually — to pick a white woman .On election day , you'll find out that trump is far from the worst thing that has ever happened to AAs. Not long ago, some of you were all calling klobuchar a 'shoe-in' |
Cabinet positions are only ejectable chairs in the Trump administration. Biden's AG is a great opportunity for meaningful reforms without all the congressional bureaucracy, and for publicity. She could be the next Bobby Kennedy. A Nytimes article said she's open to it and it would be smart of her to consider it. I don't know that there's actually bad blood, since they've been fundraising together, though maybe she's the one who will hold a grudge if she's not the VP pick. But I'd also love Sally Yates in the position, and so would Biden if Harris isn't interested. |
I think that was just Dodd talking to a donor who talked to the press. But interesting point. The Axelrod comments are telling. If Sen. Harris or her operatives dumped opposition research in the press, then that could be a trust issue with Biden. The delay is also very bad for Harris as the perceived front runner. If she has not closed the deal by now, she may never. Biden is clearly looking for alternatives. Rice may be moving higher up into contention but Biden has not made up his mind. I tend to think the Whitmer leak is a smoke screen. It could be a way to prepare the public for a surprise. |
I’m PP you’re responding to, advocating for Whitmer. I’m black, and I’m in my early 30s. So, not exactly fitting your description of these middle aged white women fantasizing about the same. What do I fantasize over? I’ll give you a hint. It starts with opening the aperture amongst narrow minded posters like you. |
