The 07 boys appear to be ranked higher within the state than the 09 girls. Both seem to be strong teams which could be considered competitive, ranked between 5 and 10 in the state. Neither quite meets the defintion of a top team though - the SYA boys are ranked below, and lost to, Arlington's second team for example.

Looks to me like SYA and Arlington's 2nd team are pretty close. Body of work means over years. Those rankings once you get into top 10 is pretty much subjective. But I do know over last 5 years there only been SYA and Alexandria.

Are you seriously trying to say that a U14 SYA team is better than another U14 team because of how they both played when the kids were 8 years old?

What matters is how they're playing now. Perhaps SYA is not developing the kids well? Or maybe Arlington's second team added some kids. In any event, there clearly is not a gap any longer.

I guess we'll see how competitive the 09 girls are when they play Loudoun's 09 pre academy in the state semi's in a few weeks
Either way, sya and cya did not develop kids very well and by the looks of it, valor will continue this trend.
The few competitive teams they do have are the exception, not the norm. Most likely from the 2 or 3 coaches that actually know what theyre doing.

And obviously if you consider non CCL games Arlington Red has done a little better than SYA - for example they beat Sterling who in turn beat SYA 4-0, which is why youthsoccerrankings has the two teams ranked almost identically with Arlington Red just very slightly ahead.

Alexandria appears to be a considerable cut above.

I also highly, highly doubt that Arlington magically has different players when they play SYA or Alexandria. Why would they bother? This isn't even their first team for heaven's sake.

Yea I can remember opposing team managers trading roster names and numbers. Hasn’t been enforced much this season with Covid. But it’s suppose to happen between teams.
