Don't fly United

Apparently United Airlines could have easily avoided this passenger abuse if they had simply offered the full $1,350. compensation amount (for domestic flights) for someone to give up their seat.

Airlines should be forced to present any passenger (in such a situation) their full legal rights and legal options, in writing. And then a written warning BEFORE "pulling the trigger".

United Airlines is obviously in BIG trouble with this one.
Shame on them!!

IMO the situation is made even worse that the 'extra passengers' were employees. YOU ARE EMPLOYEES. YOU WORK IN A SERVICE INDUSTRY. YOUR NEEDS COME SECOND TO THE PASSENGERS. (Not to blame the employees having to fly, but really united? If they didn't have to be there until tomorrow call them an uber)

I think they pretty much do that with the legalese and fine print "click here to accept terms" when you purchase the ticket

Exactly. And how much $$$$$$$$$$ did he collect last year???

United is a private company. The plane is their private property. They have the right to kick ANYONE, at any time, off of their plane. Period.

No, they do NOT do what I'm recommending, and you KNOW it.

I was once on a United flight out of the Dulles in 2000 (so pre 9/11) that was supposed to be a red eye to Europe, plane boarded and then nothing happened. the crew mysteriously disappeared. The crew abandoned the plane and "walked off" in a labor dispute, leaving hundreds of passengers on board absolutely clueless what to do or what was going on. We didn't know if they were coming back, who was in charge, were we supposed to get off. Someone started smoking and another person literally broke into the food in the back and started passing it around. Back then people didn't really have cell phones. At midnightt police boarded the plane. at 2am the flight was originally cancelled and we were allowed off the plane into the terminal. It was a cluster F of all cluster fs. United got vans and drove all of us to a hotel about a mile away and had to make a special flight for us the next day at 11am (which is a really random time to leave on a flight like that, they are always red eyes). I will never forget that United crew left an airplane with the passengers. I assume after 9/11 this would never happen. But it never ceases to amaze me the dumb shit United does. I would rather deal with Spirit Air than United any day.

Yes, it's perfectly appropriate to beat up your paying customers. Doesn't every business do this?

Sorry, this is going to hurt your United Airline stocks.

Yup. And the backlash for poor decisionmaking is well deserved.
