Nothing, all the roads are treated it will start snowing around then. It will look pretty and traveling will be fine. |
It’s now showing starting around 2 pm. It should be ok. |
Or just have your HS’er walk out. Test security. |
No, they’ll be back Thursday and I’m not even sure there will be a delay. Temps will go above freezing by afternoon Wednesday and stay that way overnight. Most of the problems with day-after cancellations is the re-freeze, but that’s not happening here. Enjoy the snow on Wednesday because it is going to disappear quickly. |
I just long for a day when life in the DMV isn't totally interrupted by a snow forecast. It's not like we're facing some of the storms that drop a foot or have you inside for days. I feel like the anxiety of this area just plays into every forecast.
Do we have enough groceries (even if you don't think you do, you do. You may need to not eat a fresh vegetable or fruit for a day.)? Will we SURVIVE for a couple of days without leaving our homes (yes, yes we will). How long will school be out? When will it get out? Will the children LEARN? We're going to slip further! How about send them out in the snow - there's probably some study that says letting them play in the snow for a day is good for development. Or read a book. Or, hell, let them curl up under some blankets and watch a movie. Or for older kids, let them sleep. It will all be ok. How about we normalize "It's just a snowstorm" and if we need to stay home, or if we're feeling anxious about it, keep our kids home. If you're not experienced in driving in snow, stay home. If you aren't comfortable going out, don't go. I just feel like every storm in this area becomes this fever pitch of fear and anxiety and it's exhausting. It's SNOW. It happens. And it (God willing) is going to keep happening. We just all need to relax about it. |
I don't know anyone who experiences the type of anxiety you're describing. I think it's just you. Most of us just want to get our work done and our kids educated. Nothing more, nothing less. |
Given the histrionics posted here daily, “most of us” want to scream and complain about every little thing that doesn’t go precisely to our preferences. |
It's just you, sorry. |
Have you been to a Grocery Store in this area when we have a snow forecast? |
It's 11:30 no snow, dipshits. |
Teachers never have to wonder why kids are rude these days. |
Light snow starting in the western and southern parts of the county. Pretty much right on schedule. Roads should be fine through the afternoon, but could start to get sketchy by the time elementary school would have let out. Overall, a very good call to do the early release. |
Why do you need to go to the grocery store for 4 inches of snow? |
Looks like it worked out well today. The weather cooperated. Hope the roads get cleared up quickly. |
Heavy snow in Mantua. Not sticking by my house. |
