What happens to Kamala’s momentum now the DNC is over?

Before Biden dropped out, they told me they could never support Harris. They just didn't like her.

Today they told me they've changed their minds and now they think she is good. They are really enthusiastic about Walz.

They help me level-set when I get too deep in my little Reddit/DCUM/podcast/Twitter bubble. I was really happy hear they are feeling good about this ticket.

Anyway, that's a data point of one.

Here's another data point of one - I live in a blue part of a red state. There's a guy in my area I see sometimes wearing a Trump shirt when he's walking his dogs.

A couple of months ago I told him it made me sad to see him wearing that shirt. Yesterday, I was talking to him again - and he said some of his friends have cut him off because he's supporting Trump. He actually thanked me for still being polite to him when I see him out with his dog. (It's for the dog.)

The Democrats cut off Biden too. So he’s not alone.

You actually went up to someone and told them their Trump shirt makes you sad?? You are the problem.

Do you think Kamala can actually maintain momentum?

Do the Dems have any new tricks up their sleeve if she starts to falter?

She got the announcement boost, then the Tim Walz boost, and then the Convention boost. But that’s all over and the debate(a) loom large.

Can she translate vibes into policy? Predictions?

You think RFK stole her thunder? HAHAHAHAHA!

Yes. Undeniably. RFK and JD were all over the talk shows this morning. Trump is out giving podcast interviews today, Sunday.

Where the hell is Kamala?

Biden-Harris don’t work weekends.

Respite from what exactly? Planting Beyoncé rumors on social media? Saying Dorito and having Dougie plop a bag in her hands as she swept right past the obviously placed chip display, right by the door? Giving a single teleprompter speech? Get your tail on the tv and give an interview. Good gravy. A classroom Sunday morning interview. Wear some cozy clothes and have an obviously places coffee cup and tell voters what you plan and hope to accomplish if they would honor your ticket with their votes.

She’s avoiding everything but appearing at rallies and laughing and making promises that everyone will have everything they need- but gives zero details.

Her campaign did release an ad that trumpeted her as “border state” prosecutor or ag. Ho hum. What a waste of a nomination.

Seriously though, that’s why polls aren’t accurate. Friends, family, neighbors, deranged strangers, will be rude, cut you off, maybe even shoot you to death because they honor democracy.

Lol. That poster said they are the only neighbor that gives this person the time of day. They sound kind, not entitled.

Not even going to respond to the poster who insisted it was the fault of the person wearing the Trump shirt. What a truly obvious troll story. There are some actual nuts on this forum who seem to be oblivious to their own nuttery.

Let's be real, at this point, given what we know, the people who support MAGA are accepting of racism, misogyny and anti-semitism and are perfectly fine with rapists, scam artists, grifters and outright criminals running our country.

There is no defending it based on facts.

Great piece on Kamala Harris *supposedly* moving toward the center. The reality is actually quite different. (Gift link)

"(Democrats are) trying to get by with a faux centrism that sands off some of their rough edges, in hope that voters won’t notice the rest of their commitments. Given the unusual brevity of the campaign, there’s a chance it will work. But voters are surely capable of distinguishing real from faux centrism."

you've got it backwards, my friend.

as just one example, the Republicans and MAGA stand with Israel and Harris and her group support Hamas. who is the anti-semite?

Except you should replace the word MAGA with Dems. What you describe is more recently tied to Gaza protests, issues with an open border, and pop-up DEI consultants who capitalized on fear mongering.

That very phrase - how "sad" he makes her - is so typical of liberals in general. Sanctimonious, smug, tut-tutting... the story is no doubt fake, but even so, it's a beautifully illustrated example of the LWNJ mindset. *Heavy sigh... you not agreeing with me makes me so very... sad.*

Yeah, that must be why POC, women, and Jews largely vote for the Democrats. Because they're the party of racism, misogyny, and anti-semitism.
