Just one day after the conclusion of the DNC and Trump and RFK already stealing her thunder.
Do you think Kamala can actually maintain momentum? Do the Dems have any new tricks up their sleeve if she starts to falter? She got the announcement boost, then the Tim Walz boost, and then the Convention boost. But that’s all over and the debate(a) loom large. Can she translate vibes into policy? Predictions? |
The debate should help. |
Yes, complete faith. She offers the polar opposite of the GOP ticket. |
Should help Trump? Yes I agree. Kamala is scared of policy. |
Sigh. I'll bite.
The Dems have a momentum that we haven't felt since Obama. The base is ready. Kamala addressed the nation, not just the base, in her speech. Independents are polling for her, not for Trump. No one is passionate about RFK. He was the "none of the above" candidate and has been tanking. We're good. |
RFK was polling quite well in a number of swing states, and the margins there are razor thin. I do think it matters. I don’t think Kamala and Walz can survive forever on the good vibes machine. Obama had good vibes and policy and he was fighting the establishment (GW Bush). Kamala has nothing more than the vibes, and that’s not enough. |
She could start by pointing out that anyone who would promise a cabinet position to an unqualified nutcase like RFK Jr isn’t suitable to be President. |
A lot. She just needs to maintain and let Trump ramble at the debate. |
Walz v Vance is the debate I can’t wait for. |
What makes anyone think Kamala is going to an amazing job in a debate vs Trump? I’m no Trump lover, but let’s get real here. If she has a Biden type debate then it could be game over for the Dems. |
I don't know but I was writing that way pretty high and now with the RFK thing and feeling a bit more defeated.... Here's helping they can keep the momentum moving forward |
Call her stupid all you want. She’s not. She’s a former prosecutor who has run a campaign with amazing message discipline— and discipline, period. It’s going to be an amazing contrast to Trumps rambling and erratic behavior. Plus, she’s younger than Trump and much more attractive. I think the visual of youth v age and Trump rambling and her shrugging, saying she can’t respond because he’s incoherent and weird and looking younger and better is a JFK v Nixon moment. She does not need to be policy heavy to win because Trump’s main policies are grievances and retribution. Her upbeat campaign will do well against that. Plus, Trump is on his heels. He has yet to find a good response to her. None of his insults are sticking. He can’t even land a good nickname. Maybe I’m wrong. But, I think Trump looks like Biden did in his first debate when he goes against her. Definitely think more people than normal will tune is. |
Well that is the question of this election, isn’t it? None of us have a crystal ball. The Dems are hopefully aware that the momentum will fade and they have a plan for solidifying the voters they have and in turning out all their voters to the polls. We will see how that goes.
I am feeling hopeful that it can work out but absolutely nothing is in the bag. |
What is her message though? Other than criticizing Trump and throwing out some grand ideas she can never accomplish, what’s her platform? |
Kamala’s greatest asset is her upbeat, joyful approach to the nation’s direction. I think a lot of people are simply tired of being angry all the time. |
