What happens to Kamala’s momentum now the DNC is over?

RFK is not a serious candidate who was pulling votes away from Trump, because they are a similar brand of crazy. Nobody cares what he's doing and he's not stealing Harris' thunder.

Call her stupid all you want. She’s not. She’s a former prosecutor who has run a campaign with amazing message discipline— and discipline, period. It’s going to be an amazing contrast to Trumps rambling and erratic behavior.

Plus, she’s younger than Trump and much more attractive. I think the visual of youth v age and Trump rambling and her shrugging, saying she can’t respond because he’s incoherent and weird and looking younger and better is a JFK v Nixon moment.

She does not need to be policy heavy to win because Trump’s main policies are grievances and retribution. Her upbeat campaign will do well against that.

Plus, Trump is on his heels. He has yet to find a good response to her. None of his insults are sticking. He can’t even land a good nickname.

Maybe I’m wrong. But, I think Trump looks like Biden did in his first debate when he goes against her. Definitely think more people than normal will tune is.

Kamala’s greatest asset is her upbeat, joyful approach to the nation’s direction. I think a lot of people are simply tired of being angry all the time.

This perfectly sums up Kamala’s base — suburban women who don’t and can’t think for themselves and just want a feel good candidate.

She proved at the convention she’s a policy expert and an amazing public speaker.

What is her message though? Other than criticizing Trump and throwing out some grand ideas she can never accomplish, what’s her platform?

Just a couple to start with ..The key message is defending democracy. Don't allow the guy who got his followers to attack the Capitol to overturn the election and tried to make state election officials commit fraud to give him the election anywhere near the Oval Office. Frankly, no other policy matters more than that. Also, pass the bipartisan border bill that Trump had his team kill just to avoid a Biden win on immigration.

1. Not Trump
2. No insurrections
3. Pro-choice.
4. Pro-NATO
5. Pro-Israel, but has separated herself from Biden on Gaza
6. Child Tax Credit

Etc. You realize she has a website with her policies, yes. Google is your friend.

That is, BTW is much more coherent than Trump, who has no policy positions.

Trump tried to throw most of our votes in the trash and we are not having it. Policy that.

1. She'll campaign hard across swing states, raising money/having concerts/rallies for voter registration drives, and continuing to build field offices and ramp up get out the vote efforts.
2. The debate in September will be another chance to highlight her experience and a stark contrast to Trump. So will the VP debate with Walz/Vance.
3. Trump will likely be sentenced in September - a huge wildcard that probably is neutral at best for him and possibly terrible. She doesn't have to do anything while independents and undecideds are reminded of his myriad crimes. Moreover, he'll have to focus his attacks on a different more immediate threat (i.e., judge/potential prison).
4. Biden probably has a few administration positive "surprises" waiting to use this fall such as the recent prisoner swap, executive orders or rescheduling marijuana, some more student loan forgiveness and other things like that to keep positive things in the spotlight for Harris.
5. She'll probably sit down for strategic interviews as well as late night tv to keep up visbility and momentum.

That's a lot of ways to keep up momentum for just the next 70 days or so.

Have you seen her take questions on camera? She isn't the confident prosecutor when she is on the receiving end of questions.

First, her opponent doesn’t do policy either. He makes rambling statements and his actual policy positions (project 2025), he disavows.

Second, for the vast majority of American voters (of both parties), her level of “policy” is indistinguishable from HRC’s policy papers. This is not what they are voting on.

For the record, I do think candidates should put out policy positions so the public can look at them. I was totally shocked in 2020 when the RNC didn’t have a platform but rather “whatever Trump wants” as their actual platform and nobody except some DC wonks cared about it at all. All this to say that the singular job of a presidential candidate is to win the presidency- and how they do that is their strategy to determine. We’ll know in a few months both what the candidates do, and whether it worked.

When she has the opportunity she will appoint justices to SCOTUS that have some respect for women's rights. Dems will win term after term after term after term until Trump's pollution of SCOTUS is cleaned up.

So, she will take no action. What is her position? Unlimited? Point of viability?

I'm sure it's similar to this, which would codify Roe as Federal law: https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/senate-bill/701
