The military that support the GOP are enlisted. The officers by and large despise them.

No the officers support trump. It is mainly because of Fox News. It’s a propaganda network that is anti constitution, anti democrat and pro white nationalist republican. Fox will never tell the truth about what trump and other republicans think about the suckers in the military. You want to see what the future of our military will look like look at Russia’s military.

No they don’t. They understand their oath to the constitution.

Military officers are split Rep Dem just like the rest of the country.

Fox News is a problem though and it was very damaging that every lobby kept it on as if it was the weather. Because it’s propaganda. That part is true.

He has the nerve to say Milley can “work overtime.” What an ignorant $ss. Not only is he required to retire, but these senior officers have been working 60-80 hour weeks for like 20 years at this point. He has NO idea about anything in the military.

Imagine what Sen. McCain would have done when he was the Ranking Member of the Armed Services Committee if a freshman Senator had pulled this shit. McConnell and Wicker need to put TT in his place.

[b]He also just “happened” to wear a bulletproof vest to work on January 6th.
I’d like to see this guy get some more attention from the DOJ.

Is that true? How do you know that?

Not PP but as bad as Tuberville is, and as hooked up on January 6 he was, he wasn’t the one speaking at the Ellipse wearing a bulletproof vest. That was Mo Brooks, also from Alabama. IIRC he lost to Tuberville in the Senate GOP primary.

But he was getting calls from Trump.

Soldiers seeking abortion can take three weeks of leave in ADDITION to their regular leave.

If a parent dies and a soldier needs to go home, the soldier must use his/her own leave.

Does that seem right? Shouldn't the soldier use her own leave for an abortion?

An abortion is a medical procedure, and like with any medical procedure there is always, although slim the risk of complications that might involve medical care.

No moralizing here, but Abortion is a medical procedure. If you are in a state that criminalizes abortion, necessitating travel then it only stands to reason that you need to stick around in the state that won’t send you and your uterus to jail should you need to seek emergency and or follow up care.

Sepsis is an emergency that doesn’t respect state lines. Our military personnel are serving our country in locales they don’t always choose. The military has a duty to protect its own from politics, prosecution and imprisonment for seeking medical care. Blame scotus.

Sucks when a relative dies, I’m private sector I get bereavement leave, of 1-5 day depending on the type of relation, anything outside of that and I take a accrued personal, STD or leave without pay. No one is getting 3 weeks bereavement for a dead anyone.

Plus I’m an at will employee, if I don’t show up for work that’s my choice. Of course I’d probably get fired, oh well, but you can’t just quit the military or just decide to not show up. When you join they tell you that. Different expectations and rules.

In a state where abortion is legal you can take a half day, get your abortion and be at your desk the next morning. Should complications arise you can take another sick day off to deal.

But if you have to travel 300 miles away to get an abortion, then you have no choice but to stay out while you heal and await possible complications requiring emergency follow up care.

if something goes wrong it can go wrong with little warning. No solder should have to choose possible death over certain AWOL because of politics.

Tuberville’s weakening of the military has the blessing of the GOP.

Is the FBI looking into this?
It smacks of sabotage. Who is whispering in his ear? Who is supporting this stance? Foreign money? Americans deserve the truth.
Is Tuberville using abortion as a pretense to hurt our military readiness.
Supposedly Russia has been moving nuclear subs in waters within striking distance of our nuclear installations.
How many leadership positions are vacant at the moment?

Schumer could solve the problem right now by putting the names up for votes.
Why won't he?

All Schumer can do is put them up for a vote individually, which would eat up months of floor time when there are other things (such as funding the government) that also have to happen. Some are saying to just put the few top officers up for votes, but that doesn't send a great message to all the other officers.

Also at some point the republicans have to deal with their party.
The democrats can’t always be cleaning up their mess.
