Players who stay at BLC through 8th grade and expect to make a top club team are always behind when they get there. The BLC program just isn't strong enough. Last year the 2026 BLC goalie wasn't even good enough to make Capital B and nobody turns away a goalie. The 2027 team may be strong this year but it's an outlier.

We are talking about 2027 though, so yes, BLC 2027 is an outlier and should have the most Capital players because they are very talented. The BLC goalie might be the best 2027 goalie in region.

And she is going to Good Counsel next year which will be interesting to see how that works out for current goalies there. In the finals the GC goalie only had 3 saves all game and gave up 12 goals.

saves are very hard to come by in elite games. The defenses just can't keep up with elite scorers.

I don't know a lot about GC, but I do believe their starter from 2022 who returned did not play in that McDonough matchup.
Either way, a freshman goalie will struggle in most matchups. Big learning curve.

Defense struggles because they aren’t allowed to play in the 8. Every move they make results in a free possession. The rules need some adjustments so the defense can participate. One of the few sports where defense doesn’t win championships.

Yes, for the 27 year BLC will get the most spots, followed by Pride and then stars, and a the top player or 2 from another player.

Where are the top players from BLC 2027 going to HS? I saw that the goalie is going to GC. Other top 27 girls HS destinations?

Pride 27's seem to be split between Visi, Potomac and PVI. 3-4 going to each. Others sticking with their public schools.

Did KM refund the money? I thought Pride needed that money to pay for fall tournaments. Very peculiar that Pride would disband a team and refund/forgo the $$ vs finding a new coach.

Sounds like club 1) established the team and took in all the money up front and then 2) fired the Cavs coach that brought that team over to organization in the first place but ONLY AFTER all tryouts for other clubs had taken place. Certainly seems like that sequence was intentional - and puts dozens of girls in limbo the year before they enter high school. Nice.

A parent volunteer was going to coach the girls through NGLL. Katie had a new head coach lined up. A not yet college grad who Katie said played at VT for four years. A quick google of the coach showed that was a lie. Katie didn’t tell the parents about the fired coach for a week. Then told the parents via email that was the plan all along as she switches coaches every 2 year. This coach had only been there a year. No one knew about this coaching policy Katie had, no even long time Pride parents. When Katie heard players were planning on leaving. She contacted the teams parents were taking to and threatened to sue them. Parents started leaving after this with no refunds for them. Those that stayed but chose not to accept her offer to play on another pride team and did not accept got a partial refund.

The club is going downhill. You do not get what you pay a lot of money for . She is a liar and an untrustworthy leader. Agree with whoever said Pride will combine with Katie’s new club, ultimate lacrosse.

Pride website just updated. Former Cavs director and head coach of Loudoun 27 red is gone. Site shows White coaches but no red coaches even though the red team rosters is still showing. It will be interesting to see what Pride does with summer tournaments. Is the White team moved up to the Red tournaments or do they stay where they were originally slotted?

Loudoun 27 Red scattered, many of which formed a Stars/St. James team. The other three Pride 27 teams (Loudoun White, NOVA Red, and NOVA white) have a few extra players now (the ones that didn't go to Stars) and are all in the same brackets.

Both played that game, they switched at half and announcers missed it. GC returning starter from 2022 struggled this year so they both played quite a bit and rotated who started games. Starting role there up for grabs as goalie was the weak point for them this year.

Interesting. Hard for a freshman goalie to succeed unless you have a really solid defense in front of you.

Most are going to Stone Ridge and Bullis. Few to Visi. Others to St John's, Good Counsel and public.

They return 10 of 12 starters next year. Last year's starter (2025) went 0 of 8 in championship, backup (also 2025) went 3 of 7. BLC goalie will be in the mix. McD freshman seemed to do well this year so you never know.

True but McD freshman surrounded by D1 defenders, she’s a great player but she’s protected.
