BF parent here. Here is my take

1) YT
2) Madison
3) Langley
4) BF
5) Oakton

I agree, even though we beat Madison and played YT close, Langley did beat us. Granted, we were down two big starters due to injuries, but you still have to show up and play no matter who is in and who is out. So yes, I think at full strength BF would beat Langley, but the fact of the matter remains that they didn’t, so Langley gets ranked ahead of them

I think that poor WP goalie had almost as many saves as YT had goals. The ball was at that end almost the entire game.

WePo goalie got exposed. Laughable and overrated. Ran into a lion in the jungle when they played us.

Laughable and overrated is a grown ass man or woman talking trash about a high school athlete.

I really hope this board is filled with students. Who talks about people’s kids this way? Yorktown does great things, Battlefield does great things too. All these rankings are subjective and of little consequence. The goalies sit back there with a fishing net while the other kids launch freaking rockets at their faces. Saving the ball half of the time is considered great. All of these players are kids, with parents and friends that probably find many of these comments wildly offensive. Just a thought.

Hmm…this sounds personal. As a YT parent whose kid played club with her, nothing about her is laughable or overrated. We could have easily won by 40. But she more than held her own.

It’s appalling. In 20 years of kids playing competitive sports I simply can’t imagine denigrating a players ability.

Do you honestly think that WestPo, Woodson, and FSR should be in the top 8 rankings, over Langley, Oakton, SL? That's how the state player tourney brackets worked out, but the tourney bracket was not the 8 best teams, merely the 2 teams that qualified from the 4 regions.

Take it up with VHSL. They are the ones that set the format

Don't need to take it up with VHSL to tell me that Oakton and Langley would having a running clock on Woodson (because they did in H2H's this season 14-3 Oak over Woodson, and 17-2 Langley over Woodson).

Woodson is a regional runner up and a state qualifier (congrats), but not a top 8 ranked team.

That's the weird thing. What happened to Robo on that day?

It was the same day as graduation. The team was very off. Seemed like over a dozen turnovers.

West po still beat Woodson with 15-20 turnovers !

Hmmmm, don't think that would be the case if the juice didn't intentionally play with an illegal stick. We would have won.

Wrong. I hate BF as much as the next person, but while Langley has a HTH win mid season, they lost by larger margins to YT (not even close) twice to BF have 2 closer games against YT (playing real close yesterday), and BF has wins over Madison and Oakton, something Langley does not. Gotta be consistent if you want to be serious.

I can't take BF seriously when they have a cake walk to the state tournament every year because their region doesn't consistently have any competitive teams.

Yeah, BF gets a cake walk every year. Just like Robinson did this year. Oh, oops.

Get dumb dumb, BF can’t help where their region is. If they could, they would and they have actually played a much stronger schedule than many of the teams that did play in states. So, know your facts before you wanna hate
