That’s laughable. The same 25 class was there let year and Langley got knocked out by Oakton. lol Better tell your head coach to start stepping it up, because she has no clue how to really coach a team. |
If I’m not mistaken, I think the break down is like this One is going to Westfield One is going to BCC in Maryland One is going to Madison Three are going to BF One is going to Kettle Run The rest are going to private schools |
I think you could say 5-6 are going to BF |
Wow, don’t you people want to take a summer break? There must be another thread you can spew your vitriol … Summer swim? Club lacrosse? Let’s all regroup next year and give this thread a rest till it’s actually relevant. |
Not from the Lumbarlax team. There are five from Stars, one Pride Red, one Pride Loudon (I believe), and one M and D Black. Sprinkle about there to five others who just played rec |
Champions start now 🤣🤣🤣 |
Lumberlax? This is still a thing? No one cares. Move on folks… |
And yet here you are still talking about it |
I had no skin in the game but I thought the whole LumberLax thing was a great thing. Gave the girls more stick time, they raised a few bucks for charity and added another good team to some local tournaments.
No idea if they did more than local tournaments and if it's still going (hope it is) and I hope we see more of this type of hybrid team playing out. Having said that I am not a fan of that NGLL crap. Keep that Maryland pay to play crap in Maryland. |
I like the Lumberlax concept, but we were disappointed the organizer of the Valentines Shootout let them in as part of what was clearly a money grab. The shootout had always been one last tourney before the season for high school teams to play and shake off the rust. Bringing in an all-star team with travel girls from all over seems to go against the spirit. Those teams should enter in travel tourneys or leagues that have a mix of teams. We used to like Valentines shootout, but don't know if we will go back next year because of it. |
I can see your point and can see the validity of it but I can also understand them coming in with a bunch of 8th graders to get stick time and get ready to play HS lacrosse. I remember someone with lumberlax posting about the why’s and he seemed honest and a solid dude.
Anyways, sounds like Battlefield is stocking up on the talent. 😳 |
Almost every year but one there has been at least one non high school team that has entered into the Valentines Shootout This is a tune up tournament, why do people get so bent out of shape over it? |
More runner-up trophies may be in their future! |
Sounds like Lumberlax supported a good cause. Just the wrong tournament. Teams like this get together every year. My daughter’s class had one. They traveled to colleges thoug to play committed teams, not in the Valentines SO which is a bunch of high school players getting together for the first time. Not much competition. I’m sure they found this out last year and won’t return. |
We will take a runner up award in states every year since your team can’t even make the championship game |
