As a parent with a player on a top GA team this has is my primary issue with girls ECNL parents as well. I've actually had girls ECNL parents walk away from conversations (which they brought up) when I ask which ECNL club their kid plays for. Either they didn't have a kid playing or they do and the kid was on such a poor ECNL team that they didn't want to say. Whatever, girls ECNL seems to just attract a certain type of person. Unfortunately for them the tide is changing. |
Cool story bro. Sounds real |
This being the exact type of parent ECNL attracts 😂 |
It is 100% real. |
ill take $100 for things that didn't happen.GA parents, lmao. times are not changing. GA is taking more poor clubs and watering down their conferences. |

Has anyone heard of Tallahassee reckoning?
Looks like they will be or are in GA next season? |
Interesting. Looks like a pre-professional team. As far as I can tell, they do not have a current youth academy. But they look like a serious organization with a mission to get girls onto pro teams. From their website: "Dr. Fontes has managed, developed, and drafted some of the best women’s soccer players in the world – Olympic Gold Medalists, NWSL Players, & FSU Alum — like Emily Fox (USWNT), Lori Lindsey (USWNT), Crystal Dunn (USWNT), Ashlyn Harris (USWNT), Ali Krieger (USWNT), Tori Huster (FSU/Spirit), Toni Pressley (FSU/Spirit), Amanda DaCosta (FSU/Spirit), Tiffany McCarty (FSU/Spirit), Joanna Loman (USWNT), Haley Raso (Spirit/Australia), Lianne Sanderson (DCUW/England) and Becky Sauerbrunn (USWNT)." That is an impressive list. Welcome to the GA! |

I'll admit biased as have DD on top ECNL local team, but feeling bad for all the GA supporters....VDA, ARL and Union. all way over any of the local GA teams, not even close....and if you would admit to yourself, if your DD could make one of those teams you would leave VAR, SYC, Alex, Mclean, or Loudoun/NVA in a heartbeat....also just look at where all the good NVA players are going, none are staying with club, all are moving to ECNL teams if they can...speaking u14 and older.
As for the younger teams, maybe GA starts closing the gap in 3-5 years, but just look at the showcases and how many college coaches are attending ECNL events v GA events....or just look at college placement of D1 players, not even close. those who know, know...not saying GA isn't bad or looking to expand, but check the soccer app and look at how many GA teams across the country are in the top 100....maybe 10 nationally per age group and they are not from this area. |
If your talking older makes sense but younger makes no sense. |
If you have to come on here to convince people then…….Sadder if no team from here wins a Natty with the amount of kids and the amount of ECNL clubs around here…Will definitely speak to the coaching…. |

I think also GA won't add anymore showcase because of the low turnout of coaches and teams.
having playoffs part of a showcase and champions cup part of a showcase seems like a smart idea to get more coaches but coaches obviously are going to go see the playoff teams more at the summer showcase and the champions cup teams in the Winter showcase. if GA removed the combinations from those 2 showcases, the coaching turnout would even be poorer. people keep saying so what GA is getting huge drops in D1 soccer coaches attending there are other coaches that come. sure, but that shows you then what the coaches think of the level of play at the GA tournament. I mean soon, the GA showcases are on the par of the jeffersoncup and Casa tournaments |
| Look, if your club is not on the I’mYouthSoccers list, then you are paying money for nothing. What’s the point of having 1000s of coaches come of your kids team is not making playoffs in ECNL, or if your kids team is under .500 |
At some point they are going to tick off the clubs in the east. Every year except 1 has seen playoffs in California which is expensive to fly to from the east coast and on top of that 1 of the only 2 showcases they have is also in California. They need to switch up the playoffs location as well as Champions Cup. They have several locations on the east coast that could handle what they are looking for which is a single venue spot that can handle all games. You don't need every P4 school or schools from all over the country to attend every event. Most smaller events have mostly localish schools attending with a few from all over. We had over 80 coaches attend that inter-conference crossover at Coppermine this year. Considering that was only the clubs in the mid-atlantic conference that was a huge turnout. If you had one in the north east and one in the south east you would still have as good a turn out as the current spring showcase in NC. My thoughts on JeffCup and any showcase are basically this, if you can't get games at the main complex you aren't going to see many scouts regardless of how good your team is. Ds team is a playoff caliber GA team that was misflighted in a mid bracket group for JeffCup where they decimated the other teams to a total of a 3-0 record with 34 goals for and 4 goals against, 2 of which came against another team that was also misflighted. They had 1 game at the main complex which saw 40 scouts attend and a combined 10 over the next 2 games at a different complex. |
Lol, the playoffs are just 1 of the many showcases each year....and my dd is going to SD on a local team...and who cares if you win a natty as one pp just commented...the fact is you are playing the best competition and your kid is getting looked at by many coaches....yes, some teams have multiple D1 power 4 players, some have multiple D1 players, some have more D3 or Ivy type players...some really bad ECNL teams may have just a handful on team that will play at next level...all those may be true, but for the GA teams reduce all of the #'s I just mentioned and you have a lot of 0's...the girls all know this already....its just funny how parents on this board try to spin it otherwise...and not trying to hate on GA at all, why would I care, my kid is on ECNL and yours is not... |
