Walz faces criticism for misleading IVF language
https://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/4842488-walz-infertility-treatment-misleading-statements/amp/

Earlier this week, would-be second lady Gwen Walz shared that she and her husband opted for intrauterine insemination (IUI) to deal with infertility, not in vitro fertilization (IVF) as some of the governor’s prior remarks and statements had erroneously suggested.

You are being obtuse.

Oh, well. Let's all ignore MAGAts tried to overthrow the govt, the fact that the GOP wants to do away with democracy and rights of women altogether all for their putrid pile of ORANGE dogsh*t and vote based on T H I S.

You are pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. Look at the kind of nonsense you're trying to use against him when your f***ing party wants women to have NO OPTIONS.

"Gee, I'm going to vote for the party that wants to do away with women's rights on rep. health incl. IVF, over THIS scandal!"

Walz being publicly fact checked by his wife is also really creepy because poor Mrs. Walz was forced to correct the record about something as personal as her fertility in front of America. Anyone who is married would be pissed about this. Anyone who is decent would be, too. Walz is bad news.

I admire her integrity for correcting his statements. I’m starting to wonder— maybe he does not even understand the difference? Or he wanted to garner more sympathy? Hard to know, but truly bizarre.

I think he probably figured most Americans even those who haven't dealt with infertility recognize the word IVF far more than can recognize IUI without looking it up. His entire role is relating to average Americans in an easy way

Yes. In addition anyone going through IUI understands that IVF would be the next step and would be fiercely protective of both procedures plus all the other infertility treatments.

The handwaving on this issue is really the most impressive I’ve ever seen. 9/10, at least.

Written like someone that knows little about going through infertility. It not a small community and these attacks against Walz for saying IVF and not IUI will never stick. All of these treatments are important threatening one threatens the entire community.

I know quite a bit about infertility, but thanks for assuming.
Of course they won’t stick, at least for the Dems. Their platform of JOY simply won’t allow it!

DP. Funny thing. Nobody believes you. And we all know that you’re lying. No normal person who has gone through fertility treatment is this clueless, classless, or callous when it comes to this personal, family journey.

If there is no distinction between the two procedures – at least according to you, those of us who understand science get that they are completely different procedures – why did his wife have to come out and make a statement about which procedure she had?

There is a difference between the two procedures so she clarified which one they successfully tried. But if IUI is unsuccessful, IVF will often be tried. IVF is more much more expensive and fortunate couples conceive with IUI or another treatment without having to resort to IVF.

Most people that have had to go through any of it would be supportive of anyone else struggling with infertility. Threatening IVF feels threatening to all of it and elicits an understandably strong "mind your own damn business" response.

Do you not realize that fertility treatment is a progression and that IVF has become the colloquial catch-all for the long, draining process.

No person on this earth, who had success with IUI, tells people they had IVF. If they do, they’re liars. Or stupid. Or both.

The catch all is not “IVF.” The catch all is “fertility treatment.”

Not really. Many more people are familiar with the term IVF then IUI. I would absolutely just use IVF unless I thought the person was educated about infertility or I wanted to bother to explain the distinctions.

Also...IVF is specifically threatened by the trump abortion bans. For a candidate running on this issue, speaking about IVF explicitly is important.
(although not all the embryos necessarily make it with IUI either).

I don't know why y'all are bothering to argue this. It has been responded to dozens of times before.

This is like me saying 'I can't believe there are idiots willing to pay 100 bucks for a DJT trading card', and being responded to with 'LIAR!!! His trading cards only cost $99'.

So stupid. Nobody cares.

Well the trump campaign is continuing to talk about it so they seem to think someone cares. Eventually they will figure out this has no traction and move on to some other stupidity.

I hate the idea that Harris/Walz plan to tax unrealized capital gains. So unfair to those who have worked hard, saved and invested.

Look at Walz— he has no investment accounts outside his retirement so he wouldn’t know a capital gain if it fell on him. Yet he supports additional taxes on investment income for others. Very selfish man.
