I would be surprised if they made that story intersect with Erin’s murder. Not every storyline has to be connected. After all, Katie’s disappearance had nothing to do with Erin.

But both Siobhan and Frank lied about their interactions with Erin.
And when both of them were being questioned by Mare and by Colin the show made them seem evasive.
And Mare spent the day after Erin’s murder trying to find Siobhan.
And then Faye left Frank.

I think Frank and Siobhan know something about Erin that they’re covering up — not saying they did anything bad, but they know bad things — and they’re hiding it from Mare. I think that will be the “shattering” betrayal.
