hmm i wonder why? is it because it makes them look good or what? |
| Why? You would have to ask the schools. or the evaluators. But, some schools have advertised the percentage placed into AAP. That tells me that the schools either only accepts gifted kids, or more likely, they put effort to training the kids to do well in AAP screening, possibly through prep and inflated gbrs |
the next round of tests will be in September. Check out GMU website for registration info. |
| anyone got appeal decisions yet? |
| I think we will receive letters end of the June or first week of the July. |
It's marketing for the private school. When I was shopping around for private ES, I had a director of a private school brag that she's never had a child choosing to go onto public school not get into AAP. |
Does anyone know how long we would have to respond to the decision? Thinking ahead as will be travelling in July/August. |
I believe it is usually about a week. |
| Have a trusted friend open the letter and read u the decision. Anyone that u trust enough in this crazy area who won't gossip if it isn't all good? |
You get a third bite at the apple? |
| No, but if you are successful on appeal, you have a deadline for returning the parent permission and school selection form that accompanies the acceptance letter. |
| We have appealed for DC with WISC FSIQ score of 150 and all the score breakdowns are in 140s. GBRS is 8. And haven't received anything neither from school nor county about AAP level placements. I see a list in this forum, are these the list of accepted? Was wondering what's the chance with our scores. |
Excellent , we got in last year with GBRS 6 and FSIQ 152. |
This is the list of scores for appeals this year. We are all waiting for the decision; expected to get it by end of next week ! |
Was it an appeal or the original application. Does it even make a difference or they just look at the scores? |
