Academics are not challenging and students don’t take them very seriously. I know a kid who transferred from Richmond to another lac for that reason. Classes far more rigorous at his new school. |
I’ve also heard that the professors at ur are not especially strong. Lots of lecturers. Not a lot of emphasis on engagement or undergrad teaching. |
Visited in April. Campus had a weird vibe. |
It’s not THAT bad. I wouldn’t go there. But it’s at least as good as VCU. |
Why the strong feelings about a school no one cares about? |
Good thing DC is just a rising senior. lol
Toxicity reeks big time here. Anonymity brings a lot out. |
You UR haters are not just insufferable but actually insane. It's not "at least as good as" VCU, it's in a different stratosphere. Its peers in the South are Davidson and W&L. Haters keep chugging that Haterade, but rankings don't lie. |
You Richmond people are really so arrogant. VCU is a fantastic school. I’d go there over UR. |
UR = toxic people |

Jersey shore. Look elsewhere. |
We are from Illinois and just flew into Dulles to visit Georgetown, GW, Richmond and W&M. The Richmond vibe was totally different, and not in a good way. Can’t quite put our finger on it but no one liked it. Not our cup of tea. |
Wow. This thread is eye opening. We were thinking of visiting. Anyone have anything good to say about Richmond? |
So much of this is rage-baiting, don’t engage. Go see Richmond for yourself and form your own opinion. UR has worked out well for my DS. He’s loves the small classes, living on campus all 4 years, and has a job lined up after graduation with a starting salary of 90k. |
I didn’t know why all these post were so negative but we just visited and - wow - what a weird school. Didn’t feel like a college. Felt like Truman show. Stepford wives. Suck a weird freaky place. |
