99% on this board bet with the 75 when the time comes.

Look, if your kid's got the talent, they'll get seen in ECNL or GA. All the big colleges were at the last GA showcase, too. You can be in ECNL and still not get recruited if they're not putting in the work. Don't let the ECNL coaches on here sway you too much. And hey, don't forget, both the current National Female College player of the year winner and the US Soccer Young Female Player of the Year came from GA.

This is 1000% true.

Sometimes top players even choose the team or league they play on because it's where they get the most minutes and are able to score the most goals, or be the best mid/defender/keeper.

Getting recruited is a mix of standing out on the team and being on a winning team. Both of these generate attention from scouts.

If the same scouts are at GA and ECNL events it doesn't matter which league you play in. What does matter is if your able to get noticed.

And therein lies the problem. The same scouts are NOT at both. Not even close. Are there scouts at both - yes. But don’t pretend it’s even. And if they are the same weekend where do you think the scouts will head?

lol go look man.

UNC/UF/STANFORD/WAKE FOREST are at GA as well. You’re just talking out of your ass at this point

Sounds like GA is positioned best on the girls side. Really interested to see how this plays out!

Huh? GA is a second tier girls league making desperate moves after losing many of their best teams last year. They added a ton of mediocre clubs last year and continue to face an uphill battle.

City SC, CUP, IMG, TopHat, Lou Fusz, FL United are better clubs than 90% of ECNL… they can all hang with the big dogs…and that’s without having ECNL….

Most clubs would’ve crumbled by now.

Cherry-picking the remaining top 6 clubs in GA doesn't make the league as strong as ECNL. Sure, the top handful could succeed in ECNL, but it's a fast drop-off after that, and the last 2/3 of GA is just not good. Like the last 1/3 of ECNL.

There are only few decent ECNL clubs as well. There are plenty of teams in ECNL in DMV that are struggling

The bolded is wrong on a lot of levels. The (large) majority of the good (Top 30?) girls teams at any age are ECNL teams. GA is a distant second in terms of the number of teams in the top 30. Does that mean there aren't good GA teams and there aren't bad ECNL one? Of course not.

***remove all the CA clubs from the top 30 and you get an even mix…

You can try to change the equation all you want to, but bottom line is that right now, for girls soccer, ECNL is a significantly stronger league top to bottom than GA. It doesn't mean that every ECNL team is better than every GA team. It doesn't mean that every ECNL player is better than very GA player. It doesn't mean that GA players won't be scouted to college or national teams.

And who knows what 2/3/4/5+ years will bring, but for the moment, it is what it is. ECNL is the stronger league. The competition is better. College coaches know this, and it plays out in the numbers of commits. US YNT scouts know it was well and it shows in their numbers too. Last year the talent discrepancy got bigger with the GA defections. This coming year maybe it's different and starts to strengthen GA as a whole. And locally, depending on where you are, the GA team may be stronger than the ECNL team. So that could be the best option for your kid.....and that's ok.

No one has said GA is 100% better than ecnl. You are saying people are saying that. ECNL is more deep in clubs than GA at the moments but I bet there are GA clubs that are more established than the one your kid plays on.

My kid play on a GA team. It is what it is. ECNL > GA.

WAGS results say otherwise

Which P4 scouts are at ECNL events but not GA events? Please list them. Because the scout lists are published at all these events and the scouts are all there. Just because you say it doesn’t make it true. It is an easy thing to check.

So you agree that the same scouts attend both leagues events. Then you state a fact that we all agree on to change the subject. Fact is for any single player they will see the same scouts whether they play ECNL or GA.

When 80% of the players come from one league than of course that same league is going to have more transfers and more who stop playing than any other leagues Even my 5th grader can do that basic math. Either way they got in the college of their choice. For some that may be the end game anyway…

MLSN and GA don't care if clubs also have ECNL.

ECNL won't let any of their teams be 2nd to MLSN or GA.

Multiple clubs have tried to have MLSN as their 1st team and ECNL has their second team. When this happens ECNL threatens to take or does take girls ECNL away.

Let the girls just have fun! I've heard some crazy stories about ECNL most sidelines – parents yelling, coaches yelling, kids stressed out, parents stressed out, all that drama. No thanks, I'd rather see my daughter enjoy herself.

And most are from the top 25% of the teams. So the bottom 75% are useless
