Except perhaps for the very top GA players, there doesn’t seem to be an even remotely equivalent backup plan for the spring season, other than to increase the autopay on your E-ZPass.

I know this thread is supposed to be about GA, but the situation also is concerning for aspiring GA players in Loudoun U12 and younger who won’t have fields for the spring. There is a wide range of player / parent commitment level on those younger United teams, and I suspect many less committed parents will pull their kids out if asked to travel to TSJ. I wouldn’t be surprised to see some of those teams fall apart quickly.

Why would they travel IF VAR is given a GA Charter?

It hasn't been announced only speculated that this is even a possibility.

Does FCV have fields for the spring season and it's just an open question starting in the fall? If so then isn't it business as usual for the spring?

TSJ will probably make an announcement in June or July - including that they’ve already “pre-registered” every FCV GA player with Revolution and “for your convenience”, all you have to do is click a link and pay your new Revolution club fees (special FCV GA player pricing starting at only $5499!). 😉

Seems like the allocation process happens on a calendar year basis:

Rumor has it that SYC is bailing on VA Union and pursuing GA. Time will tell…

Allocations are done prior to each season (spring/summer/fall/winter). Not sure if Spring ‘24 are finalized yet.

That is an interesting rumor. Why would they not want to continue with Union ECNL? Do they have the support to become a standalone GA club?

I heard the same thing about SYC getting GA. Wonder if/when they will announce it.
