All depends on the age group. In the oldest groups (06 through 08), I think FCV could beat many/most of the ECNL teams. Same with the the 2010s as well. SYC 2012 as you noted could win too. So, like I mentioned previously, the blanket statement isn't true, as the variance is significant year to year. |
FCV 06, 07, 08, 10 can beat most of the ecnl teams in nova? Please stop. |
Who's better than the 06 team? Maybe VDA? Who's better than the 07 team? Maybe Union? Maybe NVA? Who's better then the 08 team? NVA? Maybe Arlington? Maybe VDA? Who's better than the 10 team? Union. Mabye VDA? |
Just admit it ECNL dad, FCV breaking up is the best thing for your fragile ego. Next season none of the 3 GA teams will be at the same level that FCV is currently at and you can go back to your chest thumping "EcNl Is BeTtEr ThAn gA" and shout that from the roof tops. I do know this, several ECNL teams will be better next season because of the talented FCV players they were able to add and I don't know a single FCV player that is leaving the GA and accepted an RL offer, most if not all went NL, so i guess the GA players weren't as inferior as you thought. |
NP. FCV has had a long reputation for developing great players. It seems to me that nothing has taken that playbook away from them. They just need to define what success will look like going forward. If you measure success by outcomes next season with new teams, sure there will probably be some hiccups. If you measure success by the growth of the players and teams through the season and beyond, that legacy can continue today. As a parent I care a lot more about my player’s growth and their positive and healthy club experience, and a lot less about vicarious chest-thumping over tourny wins. |
The playbook? Not a single person involved in that long reputation is still there. Every single coach, director, management left. Not even the players are there to carry on a culture. Doesn't mean the new regime won't eventually have some success. But to say there is a playbook or track record is not true. |
Let’s see how they perform outside of the FCV structure against better competition week in and week out. Some will perform. Most will be exposed. |
06 vda, maybe Union 07 NVA, Union 08 vda, NVA 09 nva, vda 10 vda, Union, brave 11 all the nova teams |
This is how you talk about children? What is wrong with you? |
Like at WAGS where every FCV team played in the top bracket w/ the 10s beating FC Delco, Arlington and Ukies (ECNL next season) or the 09s and 08s that played up a year and went 5-1 combined or the 05/06s that went undefeated and beat McLean ECNL? like that level of competition? Or the 10s that beat Bethesda in a tournament? |
None of that is relevant vs. week in and week out league play. If FCV was so elite, why did it all fall apart so quickly? |
You're not very bright, are you? |
Maybe but I know that the 20/80 rule applied to FCV. 20 was good enough to compete and 80 were not or role players. |
How is that any different from any of the other teams in the area? |
Because Niko and Jim at VRSC want pay with $$ what they can’t achieve with their lack of experience, qualifications and knowledge? Just a thought. |
