NWLL baseball scandal

I’m convinced nothing is going to get fixed. Their short response to the accusations shows me they aren’t taking it seriously and feel they can continue to do what they’ve been doing. Everyone will normalize it, like we do with everything else in this country, and that will be that.

It’s possible…although LLI doesn’t recognize Fall baseball. If you want, you can let anyone play in your Fall league….just making it clear that some of those kids won’t qualify for Spring or Summer (unless you can buy a NWLL waiver I guess).

As you would imagine, most LLs make sure anyone who plays at anytime is eligible for that LL…but again, there is no obligation to do so for the period September - December.

From a competitive standpoint, maybe. From an insurance standpoint, nope.

No idea what that means. The kid still registers with NWLL, pays the fee and is covered by insurance.

Point is that LLI has no restrictions on who can play in the Fall since Summer All Stars is over for that year. Again, most LLs still restrict Fall registration to in boundary as they don’t want to kick anyone out come Spring.

Insurance is based on the league charter. League charter specifies a geographic are. Violate league charter, you violate insurance policy. Violate insurance policy, then there is no league.

Our LL used our own insurance…not what LLI provided. We covered all registered kids.

You don’t have to use the LLI insurance if you don’t want.

OK. But if I’m one of your Board members I’d be losing sleep over the idea of an out of boundary player getting hurt or hurting another kid. Not sure I’d want to find out the answer if the league is covered or not. Or, if the Board members are personally liable instead. Apparently there are a lot of lawyers in NWLL.

Then you wouldn’t have a Fall season at all. Fall baseball is not little league…there is no boundary…little league does not care who plays fall baseball. They strongly suggest you don’t just let anyone play because you will have upset families when you kick them out in the Spring…but LLI does not care.

This morning we received emails from NWLL regarding game schedule changes for a AAA team, even though we haven't received a team assignment email. The team listed doesn't exist on their website. No idea who the coach is and who is on the team. First game is this Saturday. What an absolute mess.

But in the end it might be better than actually playing in a rigged game.

Only way this changes is if parents like you demand it or take your kid elsewhere. Please don’t take shit from them - it’s too late for my kid, the lopsided games and the bizarre umpiring already chased him out of baseball.

When is the next NWLL Board Meeting?

We’ve been with the league for 3 years and never received any info about any board meetings.

Because they don’t want you involved. It’s not for you. Your kid is just someone for their team to beat. Stop complaining! Coach Ricky has games to win!
