NWLL baseball scandal

Does it usually take this long to get your kid's team assignment and practice schedule? Still haven't received anything for the Spring season. Was wondering if past issues were delaying things.

Doesn’t that seem like a personal vendetta more than anything else? And instead of asking for this all in writing (weren’t they the transparency police?) they’re trying to negotiate this all secretly by text with the new board? Is it a secret because they’re not proud that this is really why they started all this?

Hey Rev:

Someone's watching, and He surely knows you've been a baaaaaaad boy for two years now. . .

my understanding is that, yes, past issues are delaying the kids playing ball. A regular, email update blast from NWLL would be helpful to set expectations.

they've got to make sure all the checks they wrote to themselves have cleared and that all of ancient, mean-spirited umpires have given their kickbacks... then they'll let the baseball dads rig the draft, settle who will be on the all-star team, who will coach it, how much they'll pay players to come from other leagues, file lawsuits against each other... what are you talking about? kids? what? this league isn't about kids! ohhhh you mean, line up some uneven teams so that THEIR teams can have someone to beat up on for an hour on the weekend until they can get back to fixing the books...

no really... maybe you can read all the shit they've been up to and not be bothered by it, but you definitely can't think the top priority is smooth operation that ensures the most opportunity for the broadest set of kids. they're looking to get paid, advance the interests of a certain set of parents/coaches and position a handful of elite players for the easiest path to advancement.

it seems like a lot of parents are cool with that—perhaps they imagine their kids are some of the elite ones being set up for advancement (hint: they're not, and you can tell because you're not getting one of the "stipends")—and you know, horses for courses, I guess... but don't think these are the type of people who are going to get your kids schedule set up on time.

I've long suspected there is something fishy between NWLL and the DC government. There are probably more baseball fields in NW DC than any there are for other sports combined and those baseball fields are expressly prohibited from being used for any other purpose all year-round. Meanwhile, the number of baseball-playing kids falls well below those playing other sports.

Rumor is there is a secret settlement of the case, all built around making sure that Klisch is the summer coach, because ultimately, that is t what this entire thing was probably about. He has unlimited money to bleed the league to death if he doesn’t get his way. And that by sending threatening texts to the new president, there was no choice. And he will, anonymously of course, pretend to be someone else in response to this post. Make no mistake, he ruined the reputations of honest volunteers to further his cause. But karma is a b&$xh.

Are you stating that NWLL conspired with DC government for years and years to have more baseball fields?

.

NWLL board has a fresh slate leading operations. It sounds like this post infers fresh slate have their own agenda to line their pockets and advance only their kids. Maybe, it is really that the Board is being led, mostly, by a new group of people who are learning the ropes, whilst being held hostage by legal action from Klisch/Sweeney.

Do you have an alternative explanation for the disproportionate number of fields reserved for the exclusive use of NWLL?

How sad is it that the fresh slate board needs to be held hostage by legal action from Klisch/Sweeney? This board was supposed to have been originally inspired by them but from what I hear, they too feel like they were only asked to get involved to further the Klisch/Sweeney agenda of being named commissioners and hence guaranteeing spring and summer coaching (and hence his kid playing) on summer team.
