It is costing the League. Baseball enrollment is down, parents are exhausted from the back and forth from emails we received and the rumor mill. From what I can tell, the focus on kids playing ball is totally lost. Really sad. |
Didn’t LLI and the DC chapter investigate all this? Stop rehashing the information that was distributed ad nauseam via email, media and online. We are sick of it, seriously. We read the documents, and yet the NWLL community showed up, voted for the Board, and still voted for the people who have been continuously slandered. Is the entire NWLL community full of stupid people who can only be rescued by Klisch and Sweeney? No. We are not. We voted for old and new with a hope of a new Board focused on children playing baseball. Get to it. |
So true. Imagine signing up as an NWLL volunteer and being threatened with lawsuits from lawyers. It takes a brave soul to want to work in that environment. But people do it for their kids. Lets not lose sight of that. |
. Says the people who made assertive assumptions on financial need based on the car a parent drives. |
Start a dedicated NWLL thread to steer away from this srama. |
I second that notion. -MLS |
Get your pitchforks and fire.
Attack the whistleblowers!! Burn em at the stake. Who cares about the cheating, Cap Hill kids or Rossi and Davenport giving away all of our money to insiders. |
The opportunity to make any changes or improvements based on the details of the disagreement was lost. Hoping the new Board can get it back. But they can’t until this is resolved. it is sucking all the oxygen out of the League. Burning at the stake? Burning down the League. An incessant need to make it all about them rather than playing ball. Sweeney/Klisch could have solved this after the NWLL community elected the Board. Instead of respecting the vote and working well with others, it continues on. Why? because Klisch/Sweeney did not get everything they wanted. |
march down Wisconsin to their houses. Reverend Daniel can lead the insurrection. Put the agents of chaos on the rack. Or better yet, get Rossi to double the $100K payments to Davenport/Walsh/Robinson and call it an advance in expenses.
TAX FRAUD here we come. Make NW great again!!! |
If it’s really about the kids, why are Sweeney and Klisch offering to take it all back only if they are named commissioners, that Klisch be the summer coach and that Davenport follow a series of steps that they deem necessary including leaving forever and saying sorry to other leagues. Doesn’t that seem like a personal vendetta more than anything else? And instead of asking for this all in writing (weren’t they the transparency police?) they’re trying to negotiate this all secretly by text with the new board? Is it a secret because they’re not proud that this is really why they started all this? |
No. NWLL’s special committee investigated their own league. With an assist from law firm Steptoe doing a bewilderingly incompetent job, they produced a woefully self-serving and faulty report that was junk on its face and further undermined by documents released later on that were ignored by the report and further undermined its whitewashed findings. If the investigation had been a little more honest, it probably would have not left the league in the muck it continues to be mired in. LLI tries to steer clear of league issues as much as they can. They do not want to be an arbiter. And if the DC chapter means the District, they are definitely not set up to investigate anyone or anything. Their oversight seems like it was, um, not the best. They probably wish it could all just go away, but not for having investigated or adjudicated anything one way or another. |
As a CapCity family…it’s hard not to take some joy in the NWLL dumpster fire.
I guess what I don’t understand is why Ricky was ever the 12u All Star coach, and then why NWLL let him become the de facto coach every year. The LL handbook is explicit that a league president should never be an All Star coach…and certainly not 12u. It creates all kinds of conflicts in that the President can just put whomever they want on the team. The book does have allowances if say nobody else volunteers to coach the team, but that should be a one-off thing and still needs a waiver from the DC administrator. I mean…letting Ricky coach the team year after year when no other league does this was a huge red flag on its own. |
So, LLI, and DC chapter just let this continue on with no comment or previous intervention, happy to let it destroy the league? District little league cannot competently oversee their own chapters, the special committee is incompetent, along with Steptoe. So amongst all these adults, they are all incompetent overseeing the allegations. In addition to the NWLL community who voted previous Board members back onto the Board? I find it a stretch to assert that all the individuals who have reviewed these allegations are biased and incompetent. |
I think all the other DC leagues are also enjoying the drama because NWLL cheating has gone on for years and robbed many kids through the city with a fair shot of making it to Bristol and playing on a bigger stage. |
