Either having classified documents is wrong, or it’s not. We were told last year it’s wrong, very wrong. Why not now?

Obstructing an investigation was wrong then and is still wrong.

Granted. Full agreement.

Now tell me what's happening when we start hearing how these documents were discovered starting back in November and this was only made public earlier this month. Was this an attempt to hide what was found? Was this information released by the Biden camp or the National Archives? Why is this information trickling out?

We can talk all day long about Trump. I despise him. But this bullshit attempt to say that Biden's little "situation" is any less egregious is a lame attempt at deflection and an absolute ignorance of the law as it relates to the storage and handling of classified materials. Just because his press secy stands up there and repeats the same empty meaningless response every day on this subject doesn't mean the Administration is being transparent.

And, they have been disingenuous is claiming they have been cooperating all along.
When the first documents were discovered back in Nov., the president's attorney contacted the WH - not the FBI, not the Justice Dept.
The WH then contacted the National Archives. I am sure they thought that making sure they got to the archives would keep everything hush hush.
It was the Archives IG that then reported it to the DOJ.

We only know about this because someone leaked to CBS. Biden was hoping the story would be buried and the public would never know.

Yup, according to the Wall Street Journal.
WASHINGTON—Former Vice President Mike Pence’s counsel discovered classified material at his private home, according to a letter his representative sent to the National Archives.

Why is Trump exempt with his obstruction? Because he willed them unclassified after the fact with his mind?

Weird that the supposed "liberal media" is giving the Biden classified document issue much more coverage and attention than they did the Trump classified document issue.

I still think they do it because they love #bothsidesing and love the horse race - even though the Trump side is clearly worse. They also did it to Hillary. And in their hubris and eagerness to sell the horse race, they end up overselling it.

Proper media reports the facts and just the facts, and doesn’t inject opinions or suppress stories. Not a lot of that is done these days, but where it is, you would still accuse them as bothsides-ing an issue.

Also, I ask again why aren’t those responsible for tracking classified materials being scrutinized? Who is addressing the issue to prevent these happening again?

The people responsible are Pence, Biden, and Trump. If classified documents are found in your home, it’s on you, not on the agency/department that the information originally came from. They had a responsibility to safeguard it.

As I said before..... One can almost understand how classified items might be removed by a president or VP - they get classified briefings in their offices.

But, not a Senator. A Senator can only view classified material in a SCIF. You cannot take documents out.

How did Biden get items from his Senate days out of a SCIF?????
