Better protocols needed to account for classified documents handled by political officials et Al …

Sorry Mar a Lago documents and the defiance from Trump are a whole different thing but of course it will be spun by your side as the same.

Why isn’t there a warrant out for all his houses? Clearly anywhere he goes when he was/is in office is fair game, including ancillary storage units. JFC.

The statue in question is 18 USC 793e--is refusing to give [classified] docs back to the government.

Biden gave them back.

Trump STILL hasn't.

This is really a nothing story.

2) they were marked and reported as soon as they were dsicovered
3) The administeros of the archive opened up the resources to ensure nothing else was amiss
4) there is no allegation that these documents were STOLEN

IOW, the Biden archives handled this properly.

Now, if you want to compare to Trump, be my guest.

We were told that having classified documents would lead to jail if it was anyone else. Biden wasn't even the President and he took these.

You sound like preschoolers who learned their catechism. Do you not have any critical thinking to evaluate these 2 different situations?

Because unlike Trump he didn't:

* refuse to cooperate
* lie about having them
* repeatedly obstruct justice when the government tried to retrieve them
* have them scattered around randomly in multiple locations
* have them in unsecured locations full of Chinese and Russian spies

Stop trying to equate or bothsides this.

Stop. There is a problem here that has NOTHING to do with parties. Every time a document goes out, it needs to come back (this is the basic problem, I know it is slightly more complicated when it comes to soft copies). Who is the gatekeeper who makes sure the higher ups are returning everything? What will that agency do to ensure this stops happening in the future? There should be 1:1 accounting. Or are you telling me that we just work on the honor system with politicians?

This reminds me of Hillary's emails. Biden (or his staffers) were careless but there is no evidence of any criminal intent.

Because he turned them over and didn't obstruct the authorities. But, I'm sure you already know that.

You don't know if they turned them over when they discovered them. That's the party line.

They had those documents for six years. Any idea who saw them in that time?

"Under lock and key" is not a SCIF. These rationalizations ring hollow.

Under lock and key - as opposed to sitting in a random unlocked hallway room that anyone could have had access to, including the numerous known Russian and Chinese spies that have been spotted with free rein at Mar A Lago.

UPenn got $50 million from the Chinese in donations. Get real.

I don’t know who that person is, but I’m glad I’m not the only one who sees a process problem.
