In the earliest part of the pandemic, it was "fog of war" - nobody knew anything. Some people were washing produce and taking all kinds of precautions, many of which we no longer find necessary. Nobody was entirely sure if masks would or wouldn't be effective. PPE has always been mandatory for hospitals, but the surge of cases meant the hospitals were burning through their supply and there were shortages. But over the coming months, we learned more, and supply improved. And, it turned out N95s actually did keep a lot of people healthy throughout the pandemic. Just because you learn more over the course of events doesn't mean people were intentionally lying the whole time. No need to reach to the levels of viciousness and conspiracy mongering that some on the right did. Y'all lost your minds. |

So, you think saying that the virus originated in a lab is dangerous? Or, that masks aren't effective? That's dangerous? Or, that the 6 feet rule was an arbitrary rule made up by Fauci and gang is dangerous? How exactly do any of these truths, that were largely censored on the direction of the US govt. cause Asian Americans to be assaulted? You simply are not making any sense. |

You can’t be serious. Asian Americans were getting physically assaulted every day because of rhetoric about the “China Virus”. It wasn’t just a lab, it was the fault of Asian people. They were responsible. They were to blame. That rhetoric was very dangerous to people. |

You do understand that Trump was in charge at that time. If the government could censor the media, it would have been official government policy that COVID was of Chinese origin. Any contrary opinion would have been censored as disinformation. |

If the government censors information, the focus of that censorship will largely support the current government's narrative. COVID would have always had an origin in a Chinese lab. If some Asian people are attacked, the government could simply report that as disinformation as well or block the stories from reaching the public. Neat huh? Clear enough for you know? |

I don't know anyone conclusively knows where it originated. Even the most popular theory, is that, just a theory. It's likely we will ever know conclusively, so stating that one thing or another is fact would be wrong as well. |

You had no evidence of a lab leak when you started pushing that conspiracy theory. Refer back to the response above: That one falls in the "broken clock is right twice a day" category. Note that the exact same people who ran around saying COVID leaked from a Chinese lab (without evidence) also said: - COVID is just a hoax engineered by the government to control people: FALSE - The vaccines contain microchips: FALSE - The vaccines alter your DNA: FALSE - The vaccines cause severe side effects and are worse than COVID itself: FALSE, and proven instances of severe side effects were EXTREMELY rare (like one in a million, and you were 32 times more likely to end up with myocarditis if you were unvaccinated and got covid than if you were vaccinated - The vaccines are not effective: FALSE - We should not give the vaccines to children: FALSE - turned out that vaccinated kids were 80% less likely to end up in the ER than vaccinated kids Don't dare get all self rightous over being accidentally right with ONE conspiracy theory out of the DOZENS that you were ABSOLUTELY WRONG ON. |
