I never thought I would see the Supreme Court rubber stamp the most egregious and illegal censorship campaign in American history, but here we are. What a joke.

Did you, you know, actually read the opinion? Because for the most part, Justice Barrett lays out the facts, that in fact, the government was NOT suppressing free speech. Maybe read it before going on an indignation tour.

Of course, it wasn't. It was asking a third party to suppress free speech. And when the government asks you to do something, you are entirely free to ignore the government. However, Section 230 is always lurking in the background.

So you are good with foreign influences spreading lies to influence American voters.

Got it.

And here the real issue. Both parties should be sane enough that it wouldn’t matter- truth would be truth and it would be important to everyone. Sadly, one party doesn’t have americas best interest in mind though.

Dp- Great idea. Let’s defeat the republicans in the fall, so they don’t dissolve the dept .of ed, AND continue to fight foreign propaganda.
We should do both.

This is where computer experts who are not political appointees come in. During the last election I saw Russian posts at work and then saw them crop up on FB on my former HS classmates FB feed. I reported them. I don’t think foreign misinformation/disinformation on either party should be allowed! I’m against lies about Trump or Biden from Russia, China, N Korea, Iran etc!

What if a big percentage of your population believes the lies and can’t be educated?

In the news: SCOTUS sided with the Biden administration where it came to tamping down social media disinformation. 6-3 ruling. Suck it, anti-vaxxers.
