Why are ivies and other elite NE schools out, southern schools in?

I am genuinely glad there is something for everyone, but there is no jealousy. If the NE elite kids wanted the SEC they could have had it and likely with a full-ride. It doesn’t appeal to many, but obviously does for others.

Disingenuous question. The same Southern schools that were popular 5, 10, 20 years ago are still popular. Same with the Northeastern schools.

At our DMV public the hot school for
Class of 2025 was…University of Vermont.

8 kids attending which is nuts. More than the number attending all SEC schools combined.

Everyone is going Northeast/New England, Cali or in-state at our private. South was not popular.

I’m in NC, in my area top kids want to go up north or Duke. The ones that go south didn’t get into UNC or NCSU and didn’t want to go to regional campuses.

The south is HOT right now at my DC's high school.

Duke and Vandy are like the ivies of the south, with Emory, UNC, UVA also in demand. Oxford is a great backdoor LAC entry to get into Emory and Davidson is a top tier LAC.
