Why are ivies and other elite NE schools out, southern schools in?

OP- likely all your cousins think alike.
Imagine that. In your family, you think if all your cousins like something, then everyone else must too?? If that’s the kind of thinking that goes to south schools, then southern schools must not be very good. Just sayin’.
You’re making southern schools sound really dumb and homogeneous.
Hopefully they’re better than the reputation you’re trying to spin.

At our DMV public the hot school for
Class of 2025 was…University of Vermont.

8 kids attending which is nuts. More than the number attending all SEC schools combined.

Everyone is going Northeast/New England, Cali or in-state at our private. South was not popular.

I’m in NC, in my area top kids want to go up north or Duke. The ones that go south didn’t get into UNC or NCSU and didn’t want to go to regional campuses.

I just assume the average bitter commenter here looks like Linda Tripp and it all makes sense. It's envy and animosity going back to their middle and high school days decades ago. If they even have kids, they are not attractive, popular and happy casual overachievers, they're grubby tiger cubs.

Tucker Carlson's boarding school daughter was a KKG at SMU. But sure, it's all dumb white trash in the South. Y'all are a joke.

Oh wait, I had no idea Tucker Carlson’s daughter went to SMU. That obviously changes everything! If there’s one thing everyone can agree on, it is how much we love old Tucker!

The south is HOT right now at my DC's high school.

Duke and Vandy are like the ivies of the south, with Emory, UNC, UVA also in demand. Oxford is a great backdoor LAC entry to get into Emory and Davidson is a top tier LAC.

Hope Hicks who grew up in Greenwich was also a sorority girl at SMU '11. Another white trash girl from the north.

Tucker Carlson is the poster child for "White Trash whisperer" so that actually makes sense. The joke is in your mirror.

No one calls any of the Ivies the Duke or Vandy of the North. . . . or has to point out the Southern kids of wealth and privilege who attend their.

I am genuinely glad there is something for everyone, but there is no jealousy. If the NE elite kids wanted the SEC they could have had it and likely with a full-ride. It doesn’t appeal to many, but obviously does for others.

Not if they want UF, UGA, Texas. Very hard admits OOS and money is even harder.

Not for the Ivy/elite crowd they only end up at southern publics if it’s a Morehead or possibly Jefferson scholarship. High stats but not the package may be attracted to Alabama, but they weren’t getting in to the very top.

So you admit top kids come south.
