| Living Social has a deal for something called Immune IQ allergy testing for pets in which you send in samples of your pet's fur and saliva to be tested for more than 100 allergens. My cat is allergic to something that causes her to lick her fur off her stomach, and allergy testing is more than $1000 through the vet. Steroids control it for now, but I'd rather try to eliminate what's causing the problem. I don't see any online reviews of this, so I'm a little suspicious. The deal is $35. The test is usually sold for $87. Has anyone tried it? |
| No, but I just bought one. I'll let you know how it works (or doesn't)! |
| I've been thinking about getting one as well. My little girl scratches a lot and it's not fleas. I'm trying to do a lot of research on this to see what I can come up with |
| I've had a bad exprience with the ImmuneIQ company. First, I sent in my pet samples in the ImmuneIQ self-addressed stamped envelope and the post office returned the envelope to me. I circled the ImmuneIQ address in bold ink and re-sent the envelope. I waited about 4 days and emailed the ImmuneIQ office but no one responded so I sent in a second email but still no response. Then I left a message on their toll free order number and someone actually called back. However, they could not confirm that my envelope had reached their office. They told me to wait until the followinig Wednesday for an update. I waited until the following Thursday but no response so I emailed them and let them know that I was requesting a refund from my credit card company. I believe this company is a SCAM. |
| I'm the OP and I ended up buying one. Actually, I have two cats I'd like to test, but didn't want to lose twice as much money if this place didn't work out. I hope I have a better experience than 19:06, but now I fear the company will be totally overwhelmed with people who bought the Living Social deal. |
| I ordered one as well and was glad to see the Living Social deal. We were going to pay full price for it! I ordered it two weeks ago and I am yet to get it! I never got a confirmation email, so I sent them an email to make sure they got my order, and after 3 days, I got an email back that seemed like they were confused what I was asking, but that they did see an order placed. I'm really glad I didn't pay full price for this, considering I am waiting for them to send me a cotton swab and a plastic bag basically. I hope the results don't take this long and that this test was worth the wait. |
| I don't know anything about this company, but I've been told by a couple vets that they can do cheaper ($500) but less accurate allergy testing in their office OR you can spend the big bucks to get a thorough and accurate test from an allergist. So I imagine whatever results this company would give you aren't that accurate. |
| I get a result back from immuneiq for my cat. I don't know if I should believe the result or not, because it seems she allergy with a lot of common food eg fish, shrimp, chicken, beef salmon...it seems like she can't eat everything.....the result is so weird ... The only meat that they advise is only rabbit and turkey.....sound so crazy |
| I had a similar result for my dog. Let me back up though. I sent the test back to them with the hair & saliva sample on 8/26 & got an email from them 8/21 telling me what my dog was allergic to. My dog is allergic to everything but beef as far as meat goes & also all grains. I'm trying the Nutro Natural Choice grain-free food. They don't have it in beef, so I'm having to use venison flavor, which he wasn't test for, so I don't know if he's allergic to it. Bottom line, I HOPE it's not a scam because if this works maybe my poor dog will stop scratching & all his scabs will heal so he's not gross to pet! But....with the quickness of the testing & the fact that he seems to be allergic to nearly everything, I'm afraid that this lab might be incahoots with the people trying to sell grain-free food??? I don't know? Anyway, so far I'm satisfied, but skeptical. I guess if my dogs bumps go away & he stops itching, then it was a success! I started him on the new food today. I'll revisit in a month or so with an update. |

Correction-sent it on 8/16 & got it back 8/21. Sorry about that!
|
|
I too ordered it about 2.5 weeks ago an havent gotten it yet I hope its not a scam.
|
| I also ordered the living social deal....it took longer than 2 weeks to receive. Sent it back and got email results in less than 1 week. Not sure if the results are true. I added the toxins and bacteria test also and you can't tell(by their wording) if my dog HAS these virus/bacterias or we should just be careful and watch for these!!!! I'm in NO better position than before I started. Will check with my vet! Oh, and I emailed questions and have not received any response....it may seem they just take your money and send back same results each time....I don't trust it!!!! |
| I ordered the living social as well, and have gotten my results in. he is allergic to 70 things. really?! i've emailed them asking how accurate the test is. That just seems ridiculous. |
|
I bought this, too. I got the results back via email. I was TOTALLY SHOCKED by the 3 pages of foods that my miniature schnauzer is allergic to. I haven't showed this list to my vet yet, however, I am very skeptical about the results and this company. Not much is said about immuneIQ online. I guess I'm not going to put too much faith into the results that I received.
Good luck to everyone who tried this. I hope everything works out well for you!!! |
| We did the test with all the extra tests for our 2 yr old boxer. It is accurate because we did the blood allergy test through the vet and it was spot on. We also see many other things like toxins and parasites that we are now addressing with the vet. |
