Megan and Harry are extremely popular especially with progressive to moderates, under 65 crowd, multinationals etc. They'll do fine. The people that hate them like the crazy poster have always hated them. The racist older white lady demographic has never been a part of their brand.

Canada will do well too. One paper estimated that Harry and Megan brought in over 2B to England in tourism. Canada does not have anything at the level of the Sussex family and their choosing Canada will help Canadain tourism.

The pressure to step down is coming from Charles aides who have been trying to push things along and accelerate things. This will stall that for a bit. She'll step aside eventually when she becomes ill.

Where's this idea that they're extremely popular? Even with the young progressive crowd?

Woke people aren't into royalty to begin with. That's the antithesis of being progressive! Young urban progressives in the UK are anti monarchy and pro Republican so how does that square up with Meghan and Harry keeping any popularity? You think progressives are going go be thrilled by some entitled couple racking up huge speaking fees just because of their royal titles? What wonderful wisdom will they be able to give us at those expensive speeches in front of other rich people? How to save the environment while still having a private jet?

And without the royal connections, what exactly are they? Uh? Some kind of useless celebs? They're a dime a dozen.

I'm sure they'll be fine. But like all royals who move away from the orbit they'll fade away. It happened to the Windsors. They were glamorous people among jet setters but irrelevant and hardly popular.

Harry’s just the younger brother of the eventual heir to the throne, so it’s hardly as momentous as Edward’s abdication. The Sussexes will either go on to glory or fade away, but the BRF will regroup, close ranks and continue marching on.

There are various Government Houses in Canada. I'm not sure how many would still be used as a residence.

She would be a great influencer. That’s basically what the Tig blog was. I think she’ll be fine- not sure what he will do though. I don’t see him being comfortable with a regular celeb type job.

I think that’s my minor sticking point. I love them both, this isn’t a criticism:
-if you’re wanting less press... going from one public job to another isn’t a great way to do it (ok, ok, they’d have 100% control of they start up Tig 2.0. I get it)
-it’s just the thought of the prince who doesn’t want to be a prince. This fictional idea of mine that maybe he (the fictional prince in my head) would have longed to make cheese or be a farmer or design logos. Ha. And combine that with the sort of odd job that is social media influencing.

I think they are making a good choice.

They aren’t in the line of succession and neither are their kid(s). There really is no reason to stick around. William and Kate have things covered.

As far as money, it’s explained that they will get money to cover their security and then the money from their Charles family estate which isn’t considered public money I guess.

And who cares if Meghan pursued him. He obviously wanted to be with her. At least Harry likes her unlike his dad and how he treated his mom.

And I doubt Kate feels oppressed by having to dress preppy and conservative and act that way in public. She just seems like she is that kind of person to begin with and I have always thought she enjoys it.
